Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

So apparently we've saved £3mil with this whole drawn out Sarri saga. Give that £3m to Hazard as a signing on bonus and pray he stays.

Assuming he does sign, press is suggesting yet not signed and sealed yet.

Giving him the badge might have looked silly at the moment, especially among Kompany, Vertonghen, toby or even Courtois, but the way he led this stupid choking-ass team yesterday was pretty impressive. totally deserved the captain privilege.

this player is extremely underestimated and underappreciated, imo. Even here, at the Bridge. It's about god damn time to bring him some support, to show him that he means to us what Ronaldo and Messi mean to Real and Barcelona.

I truly believe in his loyalty and his desire to stay here and become a legend, but the stupid club, or should I say the board, is not giving him a s**t.

Some other players would have cried publicly, I find his whims about the future giving just another chance the board to prove him wrong about our ambition(or the lack of it).

I think the Real talk, historically, was due to Zidane being there.  I wonder now that Zidane is gone if Real are even interested in Eden any longer?

That said, if silly money like 150-200 Million was offered for him, i think the club would take it.  Not saying that is what I want, merely stating what I think teh club would do IF that large a bid came in for him. What i hope is that Eden stays and signs a new contract.  If Sarri is the next manager, I think it would be interesting to see Hazard play under a more attack minded coach

Ronaldo going to Juve, I reckon that opens it up for Hazard, personally I think he's gone, let's be honest if Real Madrid came in for any of us if we were footballers, we would go and we are fans, so Hazard isint gonna turn them down.

I wouldn't, I never understood the allure of playing for Real. Bunch of spoiled w**ker fans who'll turn on you the moment you have an off day, and a club obsessed with buying shiny new toys every year.

A club that has been technically bankrupt for god knows how many years being bailed out by the King on numerous occasions. The obsession for paying enormous amounts of money to build squads of Galacticos in a two team league has always been odd to me. Surely you could take on Barca with a collective cost of say 300m rather then in excess of a Billion (as an example)

According kristof terreur who is a well respected Belgian journo, Hazard to Real has been off the table the minute Zidane left.

It wouldn't surprise me to be honest, Hazard doesn't really grab the headlines like the typical Florentino Perez galactico, and even if ronaldo goes, surely lopetegui would play isco in that left side position, where has frequently used him for Spain.

I can see mbappe or neymar being the big purchase for them, especially since there is going to be further investigations into PSG.

Hazard isn't stupid though so I still expect him to use Real as leverage in contract negotiations, and to try and put pressure on the club to invest in the squad.

I personally think Hazard isn't on the Agenda for RM. if as expected CR7 goes to Juve, expect them to spunk it on either Mbappe or Neymar or Lewandowski, Dybala, huge bid for Salah or Kane, Asensio and Isco will be the creativity RM will need..

I'd be more worried about him going if they were selling Isco. They need a shoot on site merchant to replace Ronaldo, not a creator.

Anyone would think the club/board are keeping him shackled in a basement and forcing him to clean boots in exchange for bread & water.

He is being paid £200,000.00 a week to play the sport he loves by the "stupid club".

He is playing at the highest level, is adored by the fans, and winning trophies in the process. Sounds alright to me.

In terms of ambition, it's probably worth remembering that only Man City spent more on transfers than us last season. Take the last 15 years and I don't believe anyone has spent more than us in the country.

So if he was indeed going to "cry publicly", then that would say more about him than in would the club, in my opinion.

He isn't playing at the highest level as we missed out on Champions league and anyone can see the club has gone down hill in regards to transfers in recent years. I would welcome a public outcry from Hazard if it gets the clubs arse into gear tbh.

Our quality of recruitment has gone downhill, our willingness to spend hasn't.

I think if you took his career at Chelsea to date, it would be considered he played at the highest level.

A season in the Europa League doesn't suddenly change that.

Another season in the Europa, you mean. This is the 3rd in 6 years.

Could be playing at a much higher level with Real, Barca, Utd and City. All of which would love to have him.

And that could be said of pretty much any player who doesn't already play for those three clubs.

In reality, you obviously don't know if they would "love to have him" or much more to the point whether they would be willing to spend the money on him.

It doesn't change the fact that in the 6 years he has been at Chelsea he has played at the highest level and has won major trophies whilst being paid £200K a week.

He isn't a victim.

Real, Barca and City yes, but United ?

He's played at the highest level 50% of the time he's been here. No one is painting him as a victim we just want the clubs ambition to match his.

Currently in Champions league so included them as someone that could afford him. Probably not much in it between the two teams.

In terms of European football then yes, but playing in the Premiership (and winning it twice) is playing at the highest level in itself. As I said, over the course of his career he has played at the highest level, more so than if he was, for example, playing at PSG and in the CL every year.

I didn't even see that you listed United as one of the clubs playing at a higher level but that's quite amusing!!!
