Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

Have to side with the player this time. Jose's gigantic ego is becoming annoying. No one person is bigger than the team and that goes for him as well.

There isn't a player at Chelsea that I'd support if they were stupid enough to put their ego up against the manager. If they don't like our direction then they can request a transfer and go play tippi tappi crap at Barca. If you let any player get more powerful than the manager though, you may as well just throw in the towel now, it's a recipe for disaster.

He's been relatively poor in the second half of the season by his own standards.

World Cup should be a huge stage for him though and next season he should be leading us to the title and claiming player of the year.

Here's hoping he delivers.

That's fair, but if it gets to a point where the manager is hurting the team because his feelings were hurt, I cannot support that. There are better ways to settle this. No need to sell our best player.

Some see hazard as out best player, IMO azpi was just as good in the back, azpi put in a long shift. Hazard was checked towards the end of the season and could not break teams down. Don't get me wrong the lad is good but he is still far from the best or giving his best at Chelsea. People are crying out for attacking play look at what attacking play has done for barca, Bayern this season, all out of the champions league just like us. Jose is right tactical play wins games and produces results

One day he's brilliant, the next he's frustrating as hell. There is something I cant quite put my finger on at the moment, but I don't know if I trust his commitment, and maybe he thinks he is too good to do what Jose says.

Many have came out and said he could be the next Ronaldo or Messi, really? I am not sure I buy that. Messi is 26, 3 years older than him and hes been one of the best for years. I guess there is time yet for him to blossom, but can you really see it happening? Too often these types of players are overhyped from the get go.

There's no question that he can do brilliant things, but I don't know how I feel about him, is he going to stick around? Probably not. The good thing is if he is the real deal we will get one or two big seasons out of him before selling for a lot of money.

I hold little personal attachment to him, unlike the older Chelsea players who I ultimately trust and respect hugely.

Getting Thorgan in the team might make him stay a little longer if he ever wanted to leave.

Ha ha ha....

Ha ha ha...

Ha ha...

Ha.

Ah! The leader of the cabal.you really need to get over this infatuation with me.yes I am good looking and yes I understand most things about football, however don't despair, you are young enough to aspire to be like me in one way,the looks I can do nothing about unfortunately.

Now,time to think about new sound bites for your acolytes? No?.

I'd like to know how you know what someone looks like through a forum.

I'd like to see Hazard cross the ball more. Our crossing this season has been either woeful or nonexistent.

The last good cross I remember was when Mata sent in an excellent cross for Terry to head in against Southampton.

Same with corners and free kicks, since Mata left we have no quality there. I'm not whining about Mata I'm just saying we need to replace him.

Willian's corners are godawful, and Luiz's free kicks remind me of a medieval trebuchet during a castle siege.

Exactly, our only hope of scoring a header is from a free kick.... or a corner, if we somehow put a ball in that beats the first man.

About as non existent as the targets to cross to.

That's one of the reasons I would have liked to see Ba play more this season, he's by far our best forward in the air. The thing is, although when Ba's playing we might hit more long balls forward and have them stick (it seems to me anyway) , we're still not exactly whipping the crosses in. He used to thrive on that sort of service during his time at Newcastle but our system just isn't set up that way. Most teams these days rely on their fullbacks to get forward and provide the width but ours either don't get forward or the crosses are not good enough (or, in Dave's case, he tends to cut inside to play the ball with his stronger foot).

I think the point I'm trying to make is that even if we had an aerial threat up front we'd probably still provide poor service from out wide with the system we play.

I think Hazard is already a world class footballer but there are few parts of his game i want him to improve on and a few things i want to see him remove from his game.

A lot of the time he will run towards the box, stop, then play a 5 yard pass side ways or backwards. This part of his game really annoys me, he is really talented, he shouldn't need to do things like this as often as he does. It kills a lot of our attacks. What i would like to see him do is take on the defenders and create an opportunity by hitting the ball low across the box, or take a shot himself. He needs to make the game his own, like he did against Sunderland and Newcastle. When i see him not doing the things he is capable of doing i can't help but wonder if he isn't trying as hard as he should be.

He has shown that he is a fantastic player but i don't think we see the best side of Hazard enough at the moment.

Hazards cross to Lamps against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light was majestic .

I've said this a few times this year but Hazard at the Stadium of Light was absolutely ridiculous . It was the best individual Chelsea performance I've seen for a long time . Unplayable in every sense of the word .

Look, as I have alluded to before, hazard doesn't need to prove himself to the 'special one'.like mourhino,he probably thinks he is

'special'. as a footballer or a manager in today's game, money distorts reality.hazard is not as good as he thinks and Jose the same.

At the end of the day,I doubt very much that either would worry too much about people here and fans in general.maybe it's the lefty in me - but the pedestal we put employees of Chelsea football club on,is a pedestal of sand, that will be washed away by the sands of time and poor results that resulted in mourhino being sacked first time round

That is true, he was great that day. But its an isolated incident, when else has he been anywhere close to being that good? He'll never be truly world class until he starts doing it consistently.

At times he is no better or more effective than Schurrle.

Willian has improved immensely, just as much as Hazard in my opinion, and it's only his first season in the EPL. If Willian can learn to make smarter choices in the final third, he will be one of our standout players next season. I really want hazard to improve next season, and i think he will once we add a prolific striker and a top playmaker to the team, just to take the pressure off of him. I am really excited for the transfer window to open to find out who we will add to the squad.

I don't really think Willain has been anything other than ordinary and hard working...that's it.

His passing is very poor and decision making just as bad, he is thin on goals as well as assists. Hazard in his first season was head and shoulders above our brazilian...also a good few years younger too.

I agree with Zola, Hazard can be an utter joy to watch but he will never be a true world class talent until he does it week in week out like Ronaldo, Messi ect.

He has much work to do and I think that's what Jose was reminding him of after the Atletico game.

Yeh I do agree with you . I often wonder why he can't repeat performances like that . He's still consistently good but shows at times (Newcastle and Sunderland) that he can be ridiculously awesome but it's just not regular enough .

Willian is nowhere near Hazard.

Willian is nowhere near Hazard.

This.

No idea why so many people on here rate him so highhly, he's done very little really since he arrived.

We aint talking about a squad player either, this was £30 odd million....you expect something for that kind of money.

He didn't say they were at the same level... Just that they both improved the same amount. Willian is better now than he was at the beginning of the season, do you disagree?

He said Willian was like Hazard in his first season did he not?

They came at a similair price and only one looks to be value for money.

Willain is one of the feeblest attacking wide players I have seen, I love his work rate yeah but he was bought to score and set up goals...he does neither.
