I think it's a law in spain where contracts have to include buy out clauses, I think in England the players are the ones that push for clauses, so a big club comes in for them, there is a reasonable set price.

I can't see any big club in England putting in a buy out clause though.

I don't speak French but everyone is saying that he claims he will be staying at Chelsea and there is no chance of him leaving:

That didn't come as any surprise to me but I hope that chills people out once and for all...until Real Madrid come calling in a year or two

Not sure he's that good, not best in the world?

Last season many teams doubled up on him and he was ineffective cos he tends to make the same runs and defenders queue up to tackle or foul him

Maybe if he plays as a 10 then we'll see more versatility and more able to get past 1 or 2 players and get a shot off, and not 3 or 5 players which he does a lot now

I wouldn't waste his talent but expecting him to track back as Jose does...messi and ronaldo don't do that, and they are proper world class

He has everything to become the best in the world one day, don't forget he's still only 23. Teams doubled up on him last season due to our lack of a world class striker and Oscar being off form, add Costa and Fabregas to our team and Hazard should have a lot more space

 

And people really need to stop saying Jose holds his attacking talent back by asking him to work for the team  Hazard recently said Mourinho is important for his development and allows him to express himself on the pitch. Against Man City Hazard said Jose asked him to just attack and to not worry about defending

I still hold out hope that the sibling situation may be our pocket aces wih regards to keeping him long term.

The only thing that we could currently hold over RM and Barca is that this is the only place he can currently play with Thorgan.

I expect at least similar transfer fee from him

if bale can cost 100M, I dont see why Hazard cannot cost similar or even more, as Hazard can involve in more competition like Euro, World Cup etc.

Forget the buyout clause

 

He mainly talks about the World Cup, but at the end he is asked 'is there any chance of you leaving Chelsea?' to which he replies 'there is no chance'. The interviewer says 'you will be the number 10?' and Hazard says 'voilà'.

We should hire Zinedine Zidane as coaching staff.

As with the Lukaku 'situation', this is nonsense. He'll be at Chelsea for years to come. The only exception would be if Real Madrid made a Bale/Ronaldo level offer, then I could accept him leaving.

That interview is just about as plain as you can get.. "NO CHANCE" !!

Why on earth would Hazard leave Chelsea for PSG ??? The only plus as i see it is money, and i'm sure that won't be an issue with him at Chelsea, it never has been with any of our previous players that other teams may covet.

 

There is no way that the club would have given him the number 10 shirt if there was even the remotest chance he would be sold in this summer window.

This whole 'non story' was started by a PSG representative who said they'd love to have Hazard, and was then propagated by the French sport paper Le'Equipe, who are under the misguided impression' that because PSG now have money they are one of the most illustrious clubs in world football, when in fact, outside of Paris they are detested in France, and have no global fanbase to speak of.

 

If Hazard was to spend 5 yrs or so with us then move on, that wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary, very few players stay at one club their whole career nowadays so it is likely he'll go elsewhere in a few years, and because he may well be one of the worlds top players by then he will obviously go to a Madrid etc, he's not going too go to sc**thorpe is he FFS !!

 

This is a typical internet/viral story that gains pace with every Twittter 'tweet', and forum 'post', but in reality, if you think about it pragmatically isn't at all likely.

I've followed this lad for 5 yrs now, and as i've said from when the rumours of us signing him firts surfaced that he is something very special, and will go on to become one of the worlds best.

No it isn't.

 

I don't know why so many Chelsea fans keeping talking about Hazard leaving all of the time. We are a big club to you know, people aren't joining us just to look for another move in a few years time. They are joining us to be successful and Hazard wants to be successful at Chelsea. Not once has he ever said he wants to leave us and he has never even hinted at it. Just enjoy having him here instead of constantly worrying if he is going to leave.

I wish I could see into the future, it must be great.

New deal will mean he'll be here another three years at least unless we get offered Bale money.

Maybe, just maybe... Crazy idea this I know... He might stay at Chelsea if we win trophies.

Not every player has to end up at Real Madrid.

I read this morning that he said anything can happen in football but he is in the early stages of signing a new contract with us and wants to stay with us because we are showing him that we want him and trust him by offering him a new contract.

In other words he is pleased to stay because we are giving him a nice payrise.

Speaking to the Belgian newspaper Le Dernière Heure, he said: “I am staying at Chelsea 100%.

 

“Of course in football you never know but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there. And I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract.

 

“It is only the beginning of the talks right now so we have time, but the fact that Chelsea have offered me a new deal means they have a lot of confidence in me that I can do a good job and that they can count on me. PSG never made any suggestions to me personally.”
