September 18, 201411 yr I agree Scott Harris, he is looking more dangerous, already he is in a good gear. My only little concern is can he take more advantage of his skills? He seems to faff on a bit to much when he is in good situations, situations he created by himself may I add, he is a tremendous player. If he can take more advantage and bring even more goals to his game which he can do with the positions he gets himself in, he would be absolutely lethal and I mean that, could easily grab near 30 goals a season.
September 20, 201411 yr Didn't know where to put this, but here are the three fastest players in our squad. I was surprised to see Hazard wasn't the fastest! http://www.chelseafc.com/news/blogs/boilerplate-allincfc/allincfc/three-fastest-players-in-chelsea-squad-.html?WT.mc_id=social_20140920_31945656
September 20, 201411 yr Before looking at it, my guess will be: Salah Willian Ramires Swing and a miss!
September 20, 201411 yr Salah is clearly one of the fastest players, so that list of 3 is rubbish. I thought it was going to be actual speed tests, not someone's opinion.
September 20, 201411 yr Salah is clearly one of the fastest players, so that list of 3 is rubbish. I thought it was going to be actual speed tests, not someone's opinion. So your opinion is more relevant than someone who plays and trains with them? You were wrong, deal with it.
September 20, 201411 yr If you asked another player they'd probably have a different top 3, so no-one is right or wrong. If they actually timed them all to find out who the fastest was then that would be interesting.
September 20, 201411 yr I would assume he's talking about quickness on the ball? There's no way Hazard is one of the flat out fastest runners in the squad.
September 22, 201411 yr FASTEST guys (without the ball) are probably Ramires, willian and Schurrle. Quickest is a whole different thing..
September 22, 201411 yr Am I the only one who isn't amazed with Schurrle's speed? I don't think he's that fast at all to be honest.
September 22, 201411 yr Compared to the start of last season I feel that Eden has been fantastic. Without setting the world alight with assists and goals he is running hard hard defenders, drawing fouls and winning one on one's - doing all the stuff that we expect of him and doing it with more consistency than ever. I have been particularly impressed when he gets the ball with a tad of space of the left- he seems to be running hard at the opponents box taking on opposition defenders with more regularity than he has in the past. He is going to get a truckload of assists if he maintains this form I'm absolutely certain. Consistency is the key for him as we all know he can do it for one game but to repeatably do it is what he needs to get to that next level and the early signs look good. Go on Eden. September 28, 201411 yr I thought he was alright without being spectacular, did backheel it to Dave for our 2nd goal.
September 28, 201411 yr hard to look great when teams have 10 men in defence. he is used to running at defences, but he had no way to get through that defensive line. Similar players are rarely effective against that style of play, e.g. robben vs us in the cl for bayern, or ronaldo & bale vs atletico madrid etc.
September 28, 201411 yr I thought, like Chelsea, he was in second gear, didn't have to be at his best against medicore opponents
September 28, 201411 yr hard to look great when teams have 10 men in defence. he is used to running at defences, but he had no way to get through that defensive line. I would argue that if he is in fact about to get a new five year, 200k a week, deal then unlocking those deep, stubborn defences is what he is getting paid the big bucks to do. He has the ability but arguably needs to show more confidence in taking on those situations to deliver the little bit of magic that is sometimes needed.

After 15mins you could see it was going to be one of those days. Lay-off after lay-off and no great attempt to impact the game. He may be a little tired though, but it does become an issue if this happens a few games in a row.
September 28, 201411 yr I could be wrong but I don't think Hazard was particularly effective against Villa because the gameplan was to control the game by retaining possession. Edited September 28, 201411 yr by the special one
September 28, 201411 yr For me it looked like Villa was focused on having two players on Hazard whenever he got the ball inside their half. I'm sure he will come back strong when offered more space.
October 7, 201411 yr Fabregas: Hazard is Chelsea's Messi http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2014/10/07/5164667/fabregas-hazard-is-chelseas-messi?ICID=HP_BN_1
