The Old Feeling is Back!

Featured Replies

I don't know about anyone else, but for the first time in a long time I'm actually loving everything about the club and I haven't had this sense of optimism and confidence for the club since 2007. Is it no coincidence that 2007 was the last year when Jose was at the club until he left.

I haven't had this feeling of consistent happiness, euphoria, excitement and confidence about the club since 2007 when Jose left the club in sad circumstances. A lot of this happiness that I have at the moment has a lot to do with the way Jose is performing as manager and the way we're always winning games without any fuss now.

Our fans seem happier and you could see this last night when we played Arsenal and 9000 loud Chelsea supporters was louder than the Arsenal crowd. The team is now playing as one and delivering on the big stage when it matters most, Fernando Torres is finally performing well and seems to love being a part of the club now after a turbulent period with us, Jose is back where he belongs and his brought back this air of confidence and invicibility that Chelsea used to have when he was around from 2004 to 2007 and the team as a whole consisting of the board, players and coaches and to most importantly members and supporters now have an 'identity' with the club that seem to be missing somewhat between 2007-2013 after Jose left.

Anyway I'm just loving everything that the club is dishing up at the moment and I just want to see the club continue this consistent path of success for the rest of the season. I just haven't felt this good about the direction that the club is taking since 2007

Does anyone else feel the same?

can't say that its been that long for me !! the seasons under carlo were great, the football fantastic and if only for collapses in the middle of the season, still dumbfounding we should have had two titles under him.

The feeling under RDM was great as well to have a genuine legend leading the club and playing good football. Sadly it wasn't to be

Make no mistake, having Rafa last year and getting Jose back has made things that much more sweeter !

Let's not get ahead of ourselves guys. We've been here at the end of October before.

November and December have been our bogey months. I'm reserving judgement until after then.

We'll beast November and December.

I am sure Jose is quietly absolutely loving the squad options. We'll be fine.

I don't have the worry that we'll hit a slump really at all, this team and more so the manager give me so much confidence!!

Great to have that back.

Jose has this effect on his clubs. My only worry is how long will it last? Will he still be our manager in 5 years time?

I guess we should just enjoy it while it lasts.

Regardless if he goes or not (I think he actually wants to settle this time), I'll fully enjoy it because it's happening / happened.

Listening to Pat Nevin last night I believe the thought processes run a lot deeper than we/I realised and Jose and club managment explore latest concepts in world/European football and weave relevant matters deep into the club, right down to U12 level. From what I heard there is a plan which is obviously gaining results already and currently ahead of schedule Pat led us to believe going on the Arsenal game. I understand he is writing about certain aspects of it soon which suspect would be a brilliant read, I think he's one of the most interesting and intelligent football observers out there - glad he too is 'one of us'.............. Our October record:

Played: 6

Won: 6

Drawn: 0

Lost: 0

Scored: 18

Conceded: 3

Blimey...

That's pretty impressive. I hope all those who were losing there sh*t a month or so ago are feeling sheepish now.

If we get through November and December then i will agree. We have started seasons like this in the past only for it go terribly wrong. But with the team we have that really shouldn't happen this season.

I kind of feel like we already had our 'bad period'. Losing to Basel, Everton, drawing with Tottenham at 3 point lane. You can see Jose's ideas are getting through to the team and we are getting stronger with every game. If (and its a very big if) Torres can really keep up his form I think we will be unstoppable in the league and real challengers for European glory.

I think there has been a fear with the club and more importantly the fans since Ancelotti's second year, which seems every year to affect the players. If we are not 2 or 3 goals up the crowd is tense and the players feel it and the amount of times we have dropped points from winning positions has been unbelievable when you remember how we played under mourinho. Thats not there this year. Gone and it feels amazing.

Last year if we were 1-0 or even 1-1 I would be worried thinking. Great, we've lost it. This year I'm always confident well make up the ground because Jose isn't afraid to change the very fabric of the team with his subs.

If you think about how improved the teams performances are over just the last month or two, imagine how Jose will have us playing in the coming years.

We have the squad and now finally we have a manager able to utilize it to its' extent.
