Mata Post-Sale Thread

Featured Replies

We understand that many chelsea fans are very puzzled, some are angry and some feel very disappointed.

In this thread we will offer honest (or blue-biased) opinions to see that if there are positive reason to accelerate chelsea fans' confidence level.

For the starter, I offer two opinions

  1. Mata is not well known for counter-attack speed, especially if he started his run from a deep position.
Chelsea have been playing for counter-attack to score goals for ages. I have seen that last year, many of our
counter-attack chances staled at the midfield, since they can't quickly overun the defenders.

  2. Our treatment for players that have contributed to us (allow them to leave if the offer is right) may attract future big players when they are considering multiple offers.
Unlike two clubs on northwest UK who subdued their star players by saying that they are still under contract, even if the offer is right.

Feel free to add positive thinkings for other chelsea fans

Have said this in some other thread but it fits here better. With Jose being our manager and the squad we have we are more balanced without Mata. Mata can't be Oscar or Willian so Jose didn't know what to do with him. Better to lose one great player instead of 5 if the team works better.

I'm sure many opposition fans come to this forum, see how alot of chelsea fans react over mata, and just laugh. I saw comments nitpicking faults in anything mata-related (He's slow, short, ugly) but lets be honest he was and still is a very good player (and a handsome bar steward). He did well with us and I expect he'll do well with manure. I really wish him all the best in the future and I don't blame him or mourinho for leaving. he gave us alot of great memories and great goals, its just a shame he couldn't continue giving us more.

I stopped following him on twitter, although he used tweet really meaning stuff unlike someone other guys, I wish him well in his new venture and all the best to him, when he comes up against us he will be competitive and try and score, these things happen time to move on and give support to our current team, and make lots of noise for them at the home games they deserve it c'mon chelsea, blues for life

I think the first step is to admit Mata will be a very good signing for Manchester United because he is a very good player. Agonising over some sort of karmic revenge isn't helpful to anyone especially given it's a remote possibility.

For me it's win-win-win. The manager gets rid of a player who is a square peg in his system of round holes. The club gain a monetary profit that can be re-invested and the fruit of that is evident as Matic and Salah have added balance to a very unbalanced squad. Mata, a fine player and a top servant, gets release and closure from an uncomfortable squad position.

Plus next season he gets to go head-to-head with Oscar and in my opinion there's only going to be one winner in that.

I still don't see how they will utilise Rooney, RVP and Mata in the same team, but best of luck to him. I hope he punishes Wenger for talking sh*t again.

The first time since 10/11 season we have been in contention for the No.1 spot, bye em em, yea bye.

Why do we need another Mata thread? We already have one entitled 'Everything that Mata's'...And that particular thread is correctly located in the 'Other Teams' Section of the Forum.

All I've read/seen/thought about for the last week has been Mata. He's gone, let's move on.

Best therapy for Mata is for us to now do the business on the pitch. Mata was a super pro for us, a credit to the club but he is now a United player we need to move on. I hope he scores on his debut tonight before the Evans/Smalling factor kicks in and they lose again.

I love him to bits but if he ends up playing Europa League football for a couple of seasons I will be grinning like a Cheshire cat. United problems are deeper than being fixed by one of our benchboys.

I even made a song:

To the tune of “Another Brick in the Wallâ€

We don’t need no Spanish Star,

We have a replacement, he’s called Oscar,

No thoughts of Hazard on the bench,

We’ll Keep John Mikel Because hes Dench,

Hey Moysie, Give Mata a Home!!!!

All in all hes just too… short to stand in a wall!

He's working with David Moyes.

Who's Mata?

You guys just made me feel a lot better.

Another thing that made me feel better is when I reminded myself who our f**kin manager was.

I agree with charierre, all these mancs saying if rvp and shriek were playing against us it work have been different. How?!!! The defence is still sh*t and so is the midfield. Yeah u may score 2/3/4 goals a game with mata, shrek and the rapist but what about the 3/4/5 you concede!! Good luck juan i say. All in all if we wanna be the biggest and best then from time to time good players will leave us. We've been luck so far that over the past few decades hardly anybody has gone on to better things!! Utb

Mata the saviour for utd. In my opinion he can still open a can of beans up with his left peg. But they have just bought the equivalent to a 35 year old david beckham. He was a good luxury for us but utd cant afford luxury.

Good player but I'm sure if Jose couldn't get him to fit by now than it was likely always going to be detrimental to results trying.

We've got a better no 10 for the way Jose wants us to play and we have better players for the spots he would have had chances in, I'd add that people who feel he has a great football brain should be wondering how he thinks UTD can still win the title  .

Nothing really Mata's

anyone can see

nothing really Mata's

Nothing really Mata's...to me.

any way the wind blows.
