Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

We really need his type. A proper CM. Cesc can emulate that somewhat but he is very lightweight and short. Matic is a great CM but has no end product. Pogba is something between I think. He is one of the few players in the market that would actually give us something more. He is not Yaya but he can be.

I'd be open to including Ramires and Cuadrado in the cash plus players deal for Pogba. Oscar would be a tough loss, but depending on a fee, I'd be willing to sacrifice him too in place of Rambo.

Can you imagine getting a 22-year old version of Yaya Toure to play next to Matic and Fabregas in our midfield? That would make us so much stronger.

Something that's been missing from this discussion is the point of view that Roman has been seeking since day one. He wants a stylish squad that plays attractive and highly entertaining football. This is where Pogba comes in. He is a perfect choice for Romans plan. His age and potential alone is reason enough to invest in him. Being in business, Roman know as well that with a new stadium coming sooner than later what better player to be shining in the center of the pitch than Pogba for years to come.

Otherwise, as others have mentioned, he stays and Juve, and by next summer moves to Barca

or Real. (A quick snapshot of what that would look like...)

••••Benzema••••

CR7••Isco/Modric••Bale

••••Kroos•••Pogba•••

Neymar••Suarez••Messi

••••Inesta/Rat•••Pogba••••

Or

••••Costa••••

Hazard••Will/Oscar••Pedro

••Matic/Fab••Pogba••

Romans gotta make a power move for the future!

This really isn't going to happen guys.

Well, even if we don't land Pogba, and that's the most likely outcome, I'm just happy that we showed some ambition. People were starting to talk about how Chelsea weren't willing to spend big in order to get the biggest stars out there. Well, that answers it. We want the best an are willing to pay the price.

You are absolutely f**king delusional.  How would getting arguably the best defensive midfielder in the world, and only 22 years old, be us getting robbed?

He's not even the best midfielder in his own team nevermind the world.

With KDB going to citeh, we need to get this player, so I'm not counting it out yet..........eta:  Like when I never counted out Jose returning whilst others said it could not happen.

I'd absolutely love to have Pogba, I think he is fantastic, but lets not forget Man U gave him away for free 3 years ago, he has come on leaps and bounds but I don't think he is any better that a younger Toure, and city got him for 24 million (yes at 28 but proven), some of these figures are way over inflated, if you watched him vs barca, he played well but he didn't look like a player of the value that is being put on him, I think people just hear he is good and run with it rather than watch him closely, he is very good yes, but there are loads of guys that could do a similar job at a fraction of the price, I'd rather have witsle and keep oscar than any swap including oscar

Absolutely, unequivocally the best post I this entire forum.

Mourinho quote:

“Players are different and Willian does things Pedro doesn’t,” Mourinho said, according to the Daily Express.

“One of the biggest lies of the market is when I read that we want to sell Willian, or that other clubs want him. Maybe they do, but they won’t get him.”

I don't think the talk of him underperforming in big games means that much - when's the last time Messi excelled against us? I watched alot of Serie A (I know not that good) but he looked like everything a team could dream of.

Forget Oscar in the 'deal' give them Ramires + Dud and some cash and I think it will be the deal we've needed.

Oh also splash the cash on Stones.

Mourinho would sell his mother before he would sell Willian, he loves him and rightly so

i dunno where this narrative is coming from that we're only strengthening because of the city defeat. i don't think it's due to that defeat at all, but more so has something to do with the fact that city have just gone and bought 2 players and are planning to buy de bruyne for a combined fee somewhere close to 150 million, and also man utd are planning to spend too. i don't think we've just been shocked into spending post city by any means. we were linked with pedro and baba for e.g. before the league even began.

I think at the very least it was a kick up the arse, put the spot light on our ageing back line and shyte right wing and hurt Romans ego, none of which bad things if you want cash for players.

but anyone with a ounce of footballing knowledge could see we weren't strong enough at the back or in midfield, especially after getting trounced by spurs 5-3 last season as well as performing poorly against PSG, just to name a couple of examples. i refuse to believe that jose and the board are that blind, considering they've been in the game long enough now.

I'm starting to believe but only one thing changes my mind. He was given a number 10 on his shirt, he continues the history of Tevez, Del Piero, Baggio, Platini. Maybe it means something for him, Juventus's fans would hate him for that if he leaves.

It would be phenomenal if we did get him. We would be looking at a serious mount for the champions league with him.

And he is only 22 so he has got much more to offer and if one day barca or Madrid came in we could be getting good money for him as he is yet to reach his peak.
