Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Not super duper excited about this but I won't fill this with any unnecessary unhappiness.

Good Luck to you Costa! It does feel good to have the potential for a competent striker!

If Lukaku can just 'belt up' a bit and accept a role fighting for his place  and we could somehow offload Torres we could start next season with Costa, Lukaku and Ba. I would be more than happy with that.

So have Atletico accepted an offer on the buyout clause of 32mill or are we having to funnel that to Costa to buyout his deal and meaning we have to pay the extra taxes that go with it?

That's it for negativity then. He may be twat, but he's our twat! Here's to hoping he can go along way to fixing our centre forward problems.

From now on he is misunderstood and maligned by the media!

This is great news though, we are one step away from finally having a top-level striker and one who is perfectly suited to our style of play. Could we finally be about to see the end of the Torres debacle?

If people are expecting Costa to beat players with skill and pace, score 30 yard screamers and be creative then you will be very disappointed

He's a typical old school no 9. Great movement, decent touch, great finisher and that ability put half chances away on a consistent basis

He's built for the Premiership and our style of football

Grats on the signing. I hope he fits in with Mou's Chelsea and doesn't turn out another Torres. All I can say is thank you Costa and thank you Chelsea for the purchase. The feeling in Madrid is that we are not losing out what we lost with Falcao or Kun, he's a good player, no doubting that, but I feel Simeone may have brought out the best Costa that we are likely to see.

Been waiting three years for a high profile striker signing, shame it's being greeted with an air of negativity.

Hopefully Costa does the business in front of goal and everyone ends up happy.... Except our rivals of course.

I think you will find he is a very similar striker to Torres

I hate that saying, i still don't really know what it means and how it is a positive in any way.
