July 31, 20205 yr One of the cool clips, soon enough for the vintage topics lol...Look how TJ and Hazard are so good here, the captain saying yea yea but listen we'll see next year and boom next year we won the title!

July 26, 20214 yr He'd be great for the coming seasons morale, but Tuchel would have serious whiplash, having t keep looking over his shoulder, especially when hit the sticky patch, so for me a no no..
July 26, 20214 yr No, don't really want to go down the club legend route again (if Terry returns it would likely be a grooming to an eventual manager shot which won't be good for either party). It's too painful when things go south not only cause a legend suffers but also all legions of excuses start getting rolled out as seen with Jose mark 2 and Lamps.
July 26, 20214 yr I don’t think JT would come back to Chelsea unless he knew he’d have success as a manager. Unsurprising to see rival fans spewing the same old unsubstantiated bile too. At least he’s got two clubs fans behind him nowadays.
July 26, 20214 yr Agreed Munk, pretty sure JT has said as much as well, and no doubt he had chances to come back in roles other than a manager but is carving his own path. I would expect he starts his own managerial career soon otherwise I cannot see why he left Villa as he had a good relationship with Smith and the team there.
July 26, 20214 yr Quite interested to see how JT does. I think he’s been wise in taking his time and learning from others. I wonder whether Frank would have benefited from that approach. He seemed to launch straight into it. Im interested to see how well he can lead a group. Obviously a great captain but the best captains and players don’t always make the best managers. Gerrard has surprised me a little. Celtic are awful but at least he has won the league there.

Be interesting to see if he can be a manager after he's been praised as a number 2. Big step up and a totally different role. Would love to see him do well though.
July 26, 20214 yr Funnily enough, had this weird nightmare in which we were playing Arsenal (I think, can't really say for certain), losing 2-1 and in the last breath of the match JT flicked a ball to Eden who didn't hit with power and their GK saved it. Then woke up to this news. Hopefully he'll get a job with good chances of either staying in PL or promotion from the Championship.

I'm guessing his ultimate ambition is/was to be manager here so going to be Frank's number 2 was effectively going back in the que voluntarily.

It’s good experience though - he’s been working behind the scenes at a big club which would have given him a lot of insight.
December 26, 20214 yr It's being reported that he will return to the club in a coaching role for the Academy. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10345229/John-Terry-set-Chelsea-return-FIVE-years-away-club.html

It was sort of a rhetorical question , but I came to the same conclusion. With a bit of goodwill we might think he's being positioned in the academy first and then taken through the ranks. Okay, with a lot of goodwill might we think that...

December 29, 20214 yr Obviously never accepted or received any managers jobs. Good to have a back. Quite a few legends back at the club now.
