March 1, 201511 yr He has actually, several newspapers claiming he "did a John Terry" as if Terry was the first person ever to wear his kit for the celebrations when not playing in the game. Those newspapers aren't even fit for arse paper. Who cares, the media can't take this away! CHELSEA!
March 1, 201511 yr 34 years old and still performing at a very high level, easily the best CB in the League and still one of the best in the world The blokes an absolute legend and will go down as one our all time greats.
March 1, 201511 yr The word legend is overused but this man Captain Leader Legend could not be more appropriate. Edited March 1, 201511 yr by dan_cfc
March 1, 201511 yr I find it amazing that JT is so reviled not only by oppositions fans but by sections of the media. He maybe no angel but in the greater picture it's pitiful enough, the high horse brigade might want to look after their own houses first. Can't wait to watch the highlights this evening on the BBC and see what they have to say.
March 2, 201511 yr Chelsea captain says he has drawn a line under his international career but admits he has missed playing in big finals and the atmosphere of the national stadium John Terry has revealed how much he has missed the thrill of playing at Wembley but has again firmly closed the door on making an England comeback. The Chelsea captain scored and was named man of the match in Sunday’s Capital One Cup final and it was the 15th trophy he has lifted in his career at the club. The most recent, though, was the Europa League final of 2013 when Terry did not play. Indeed, after also missing the Champions League final of 2012, Terry had not started a final for Chelsea since they beat Liverpool 2-1 in the 2012 FA Cup showpiece at Wembley. “They started playing the national anthem before the game and I was going then,” said Terry. “I was ready before the game, I have missed it, playing in these big stadiums, and in these competitions and I’m delighted to get back to Wembley.” Terry has re-established himself as the best English centre-back over the past two seasons but does not want to reconsider his retirement from international football. “No - it’s the simple answer,” he said. “I don’t want to go into it right now, being back at Wembley, the atmosphere, the stadium, it’s one of the best I have played in, but it’s never crossed my mind. I have drawn a line under it and the England squad can move on now.” Edited March 2, 201511 yr by Zola
March 2, 201511 yr On Talksport now, big debate on Getting JT back for England, Stanley Victor being very vocal in his support!!!
March 2, 201511 yr On Talksport now, big debate on Getting JT back for England, Stanley Victor being very vocal in his support!!! He should take over from Hodgson!
March 2, 201511 yr SVC, dear me its love fest, i can hear Collymore silently singing "Redemption Song".
March 2, 201511 yr He should take over from Hodgson! I want Chris Powell as England manager, he would almost certainly be awful but we'd be the most likeable team in international football. (Plus it would keep the anti-racism lobby satisfied)
March 2, 201511 yr I want Chris Powell as England manager, he would almost certainly be awful but we'd be the most likeable team in international football. (Plus it would keep the anti-racism lobby satisfied) I read the court report for JT, how on earth the FA thought they could say something different is beyond comprehension.
March 2, 201511 yr I personally want JT to tell Hodgson and that insidious bunch of Jacketed old farts, "Jog on, i'm really not interested, being out of the England fold is helping extend my beloved Chelsea career"............

Meanwhile he is still the best centre half in the EPL and England sadly have to suck it up.
March 2, 201511 yr Would love to see him manage England one day. He has the same charisma for the FA as Brian Clough, & Harry Redknapp, the fa could not reconise a great manager as long as they have so many Noddy Nomarks in their selection committees. He would never take the job IMO.

March 2, 201511 yr We have to offer him a new contract. He's one of the first on the team sheet at the moment. The best leader England has produced for decades.
March 2, 201511 yr The new contract is a formality. JT and Chelsea a have more time together yet. John Terry says he hopes he has "a few years left" at Chelsea, but would not play for another club when he leaves. Blues captain Terry, whose contract is up at the end of the season, scored the opener in Sunday's 2-0 Capital One Cup final win over Tottenham at Wembley. Chelsea also lead the Premier League by five points with 12 games to play. "If this is my last year then I hope it goes out on a bang, but I am feeling great at the minute and it would be the wrong time to go," said Terry, 34. It is Chelsea policy for players over the age of 30 to be offered only 12-month deals and, when asked whether he would play for another club, the former England captain said: "No, and I also think there's a right time to go as well. "I have my little target to play next year but beyond that, two or three years, I don't know." Love the guy, unlike Frank I just have a gut feeling Terry couldn't play for another English club. He is Mr Chelsea

He is Mr Chelsea I think he's hated so much by everyone that it would be practically impossible! I'm 99% sure he will be here next year, he's simply too important to us as a player and a person to not be. We would have to shell out a lot of money to find a replacement too, I just don't think Cahill is good enough to be that guy. With Frank, bear in mind that he had become a bit-part player last year.
March 3, 201511 yr Jose has said many times he will get a new deal, spoke the same way about hazard and look how that turned out
March 3, 201511 yr Going to be the worst day of my life when this guy no longer wears the shirt. He is pure and proper Chels. We all love him and they all hate him. Get in there John. Captain , Leader , Legend.

March 3, 201511 yr What annoys me is the ones that hate him say he's crap when it's clear he's one of the greatest of all time.
March 3, 201511 yr What annoys me is the ones that hate him say he's crap when it's clear he's one of the greatest of all time. To be fair it's a pretty good indicator that you can ignore every subsequent footballing opinion they come out with as they have clearly never watched a game in their lives.
March 3, 201511 yr Do you think with Frank playing for City now it takes Terry above him in terms of stature at the club? I've always rated John as the benchmark but popular opinion has Frank as the no 1 I have found.
March 3, 201511 yr Author Do you think with Frank playing for City now it takes Terry above him in terms of stature at the club? I've always rated John as the benchmark but popular opinion has Frank as the no 1 I have found. Frank's got the club scoring record and for a midfielder that is extremely impressive, a record unlikely to ever be broken too. That plays a massive part in his legendary status and the fact he was acting captain when we won the European and Europa Cups. Give it a couple of years and most people won't really care about that he spent this season at City. That said Terry's just captained us to yet another trophy, if he adds a 4th league title at the end of the season he's only going to be enhancing his reputation at the club. We'll be in the mix for more trophies next season too and the more we win with JT playing as well as he is it's going to be a tough call on who is the greatest.
