I am remember somebody on here saying that Liverpool fans were giving him a bollocking after the West Ham game when he ran his nut off compared to the other Italian.

Borini is a reliable 3rd choice striker/back up winger on any top side.

Shouldn't have got rid of Redknapp, and then shouldn't have got rid of AVB, in my opinion. He was sacked while Spurs were comfortably above United, with an obviously weaker squad. Despite the media saying Moyes should be given time, hardly anything was made of AVB's sacking.

Redknapp was the one they messed up on. Getting rid of him was just stupid. Tottenham were progressing under Redknapp, and even though i don't really like him all that much he was doing a good job there. To me it was like Levy was just looking for an excuss to get rid of Redknapp. They had finished 4th that season, and it was only because we won the Champions League that they weren't able to play in it the following season.

Sorry but I gotta disagree here Scott, Redknapp could only take Spurs so far.

He made an amazing achievement getting them 4th place, didn't even have a bad season after that almost did it again under really hard circumstances but after that he was just terrible.

In 2011/2012 Spurs had the 2nd best side in terms of quality in the league in my opinion, VDV, Modric, Bale, Adebayor (great form) those players where excellent then and the only side better than them in quality was City. How United did so well that season just goes to show how good Fergie was even with all his mediocre players he had.

Spurs should have even competed for the title that year, they had no excuse not to, Arsenal where a one man team who where looking to be in serious trouble if they didn't have Van Persie and us... well we finished 6th that season. But Redknapp got so many decisions wrong that year, completely cocked it up when he had the high expectations on him, he would never have been able to take Spurs to the next level, something he had to do if he was to make Spurs a top 4 side. I think the manager they have now is much better he just needs time.

I don't hate Mario, just the fact he plays for the pool make it impossible to like him. He's bound to score a goal sooner or later, now that's out of the way he will have 1 of those invisible game against us next week.

To a degree. Sp*rs have the same problem as liverscum in as much as they both sold the player who you could count on to win games without finding the right replacement.

I lost count of the times Bale pulled Sp*rs out of the shyte, if Pinnochio had Bale to call on, Sp*rs would be right up there!

I have this bad feeling that it will be the game against us where he sparks to life.

The real problem with Spurs imo is the expectation from the owner and the fans. They believe that they should be in the top 4. That seems to be the goal for every manager they have but the owner doesnt really splash the cash needed to push them on that little bit extra that they need.

They spent a sh*t load 2 summers ago but that was all money from the sale of Bale. Lets be honest they wasted most of that money also.

The new manager has had to deal with the players bought from previous managers that just arent right for our league or good enough.

Spurs should give complete control to the manager to build a team and let go the players that just arent working out.

To me Spurs seem to be controlled by their owner like we have in the past. I truely believe that a manager should be left to do what he does best. Owners should not be messing around with the squad. If the owner pays someone to run the team then let them do what you pay them to do.

We can always hope, but I don't think it'll happen.

I think most people would be reluctant to play Balotelli as a lone striker as it clearly hasn't worked so far, but I can't see Rodgers playing two up front against you as that means he'd be giving up some ground in the middle.

I'm not Borini's biggest fan, but to be fair to him he's not really had a decent run of games. Sunderland must have seen something to want to pay £14m. He's got pace, and would do more of the back line pressing and harassing type of work than Balotelli would.

Mauricio Pochettino has tried to blame Spurs poor form on the WHL pitch being too small

So he's pretty much putting the blame on 1cm?

Well that's not too bad they have been needing a new centre mid for a while.

A couple of inches make a world of difference, that's what his wife keeps telling him.

tough to call what Newcastle should have done tonight. They're playing a weakened side that looks like lambs to the slaughter against City but I suppose Pardew is hoping they'll be in good shape for Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime. I'm sure lots of Geordies would like to see him try and get past City tonight. A good cup run is important for clubs like Newcastle, or at least good for their fans.

Wouldn't be surprised to learn that he purposely misbehaved hoping that he would be given a ban so he wouldn't be destroyed by Terry on the near post.
