You have to tip your hat to Basel. They always draw a tough group and go up against the big ones and they always put in a performance. Their support is amazing as well. Well done Basel.....

Everyone was sh*t. Tactics were sh*t. Managers team sheet was sh*t. The only thing that was good was the free kick. Apart from that gerrard walked everyone.

Gutted we're put. Didn't even get to enjoy this competition. BR after conceading the defeat to real doesn't deserve this competition.

I don't get the thinking behind that Bobby, you do eventually have to play the top teams but avoiding them can give you a much better chance of winning it. The top teams can be avoided till the semis at least and I'd rather wait till then to play the elite.

Watched the match on Itv and have listened to the 'highlights' of the match on Radio

 

Everyone was crying out for a Stevie Gerrard Captain Fantastic performance

 

His free kick with 5 minutes to go was absolutely phenomenal.. completely flawless 

 

But for the other 97 minutes he was abject and absent haha

If Liverpool lose at United on Sunday King Brenny could well be back on the train to London Euston and begging Jose to be CFC academy coach once again

Liverpool back in the Champions League

Liverpool are taking part in the Champions League for the ninth time. Their last appearance in the competition was in 2009-10.

In that time, Liverpool have spent more than £400m on new players and changed manager three times, with Brendan Rodgers finally guiding them back to the promised land with a second-placed finish last term.

More bad news I fear for our friends at Anfield - their Champions League campaign has been so poor they are unlikely to make it into the seeds for the Europa League draw.  Only the best 4 third placed sides dropping into the Europa League are seeded. Three sides already have better records than Liverpool. Schalke and a couple of others can also better them with a draw or win in their matches tomorrow night.

 

One side Liverpool could play is Napoli. Brenda meets the FSW = pure entertainment

Will Bayern drop the game tomorrow to ensure City is out? I have a feeling City won't make it out of the group tomorrow, even they win in Rome.

 

So much for the spirit of Instanbul or whatever the fore lore is called.. :laugh2:
