December 12, 201411 yr rhetorical question of the week: Is Raheem Sterling worth more than £70,000 per week? Seems Liverpool's woes are set to continue and even deepen, especially if they go down to United on Sunday. Even the mainstream football journalists are starting to turn on Rodgers and point out that the mythology about the club's greatness is just about all it has. Their fans are beginning to realise just how empty their hopes have really been and there is the underlying dissatisfaction about ticket prices. It's going to be fascinating to watch how FSG react. Personally I think Raheem Sterling is vastly overrated and hit his peak last season - the talk linking him with Real Madrid was nonsense and can't see him being anywhere near as effective without his pace. December 12, 201411 yr 'hit is peak' last season? Haha he turned 20 a few days ago... lets not get carried away Edited December 12, 201411 yr by Zola
December 12, 201411 yr Ridiculous? Perhaps... but a lot of younger players tend to hit their peak early in their careers - I hope not for him/England's sake, but just think he's one of them. Granted Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge's absence in the team hasn't helped him... he's had a frustrating season as a result. Edited December 12, 201411 yr by the special one
December 12, 201411 yr He's got speed which scares the crap out of defenders and is something that you either have or not. To go with his speed he has got good ball skills, a decent cross and shot. What he is missing sometimes is taking the correct option and sometimes his weight of pass is lacking, these he can learn. The differance with last year is that teams were concentrating on Surez and Sturridge, giving Sterling more space. This year teams realise that Sterling is the main threat and concentrating on nullifying him. He's very young and been given the responsibility of carrying that team which is too much for him. Many a better player would get lost in that liverpool team at the moment. I think he'll turn out to be a useful player.
December 12, 201411 yr There was a lot of good link upo play with Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge last year as well, all interchanging, one drops, one runs in behind, then switch. Now he has to work with Rickie Lambert. 'nuff said.
December 13, 201411 yr Author What do you guys think of Liverpool's chances tomorrow? No matter how bad they have been in the past, they almost always fire themselves up for games against United, however, I cannot see anything but a defeat for them.
December 13, 201411 yr It's at Old Trafford, I see nothing but a United win. Tbh would prefer a draw.
December 13, 201411 yr Would prefer a Liverpool win... while I don't think United are title contenders perhaps they shouldn't be underestimated. I see Bamford has scored again! Edited December 13, 201411 yr by the special one
December 13, 201411 yr Bamfordino has surely got to be in contention for becoming Chelsea's third choice striker next season, scoring consistently at any level is a challenge and he's shown he has the eye for goal. A year at Chelsea, training with the first team and getting minutes towards the end of games would surely help his development.
December 13, 201411 yr Big day in my house as Middlesbrough make a rare appearance on TV Oh I've heard it all over here, they will be back in the Premier League soon then they wont shut up.
December 13, 201411 yr Author Boro, was always an away fixture I used to fear, a bit like Villa these days.
December 13, 201411 yr f**king Lampard scores again, I wish he would just f**k off to New York So do I, then people would stop nagging and whining everytime he's doing well.
December 13, 201411 yr Pellegrini in today's Times: 'I think Frank is a very important player for us and I hope we will not have any problems for him to stay here. But I cannot say just from one side what will happen with him. There is another club involved, the MLS is involved also...'. I think he ought to go to the US otherwise a precedent is set.
December 13, 201411 yr If lamps stays at City, he's a traitor, simple as. People can make themselves feel good and say he's unhappy scoring fkr city blah blah. He's loving this !
December 13, 201411 yr Southampton in absolute free fall. If they'd win today you could make a case for their Champions League credentials but not anymore. I said when they lost to City they would spiral.
December 13, 201411 yr If lamps stays at City, he's a traitor, simple as. People can make themselves feel good and say he's unhappy scoring fkr city blah blah. He's loving this ! Do f**k off m8. Lampard and Tratior does not compute.
December 13, 201411 yr Come on lets not talk about Lampard, we all knew what was going to happen, he is going to win them a lot of points that's just what Lampard does. But we have Drogba, who is looking even better if you ask me, Drogba is looking fantastic now that he has his match fitness, he looks a lot better than Costa on the ball. He is going to score lots of goals if he keeps coming on in the last 10-15 minutes. Teams wont be able to handle him.
December 13, 201411 yr If lamps stays at City, he's a traitor, simple as. People can make themselves feel good and say he's unhappy scoring fkr city blah blah. He's loving this ! traitor? Don't be so bloody ridiculous.
