"As to whether I will be one of the best player in Europe or the world, for me, as long as I continue to work hard everything will take care of itself."

Don't get ahead of yourself 'Dstudge'

Also sad to see that Dr. Hans Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt who has been Bayern Munich team doctor since 1977 has quit his job after Pep Guardiola scape goated him and the medical department for last nights defeat to Porto.

Speaking of German football, I'm just off watching Wolfsburg getting demolished by Napoli. I thought this would be a derby, but Napoli gave a masterclass in counterattacking. I wanted Wolfsburg to do well, what with a couple of ex-Chelsea players there. And against a team that we have some (glorious) history with, led by none other than the FSW. The downside of tonight's result is, if they play well, Benitez might not be a contender for the City job and that will be a real shame

Sepp Blatter has been likened to Jesus, Nelson Mandela and Winston Churchill as 10 Concafaf members gave their backing to the incumbent for the Fifa presidency elections in May.

More like Al Capone, Ned Kelly and Ronnie Biggs...thieving git

Not sure how well this will embed but it shows guardiola being a dick to the medical staff And seems to have been the final straw that made the bayern medical team leave

Saw that earlier today. I understand its a stressful job and disagreements are unavoidable, but that kind of behaviour in front of everyone is just not on.

Funny, if Pep wants to blame someone for all the injury woes he would do well to remember this came under his management of the players.  The BM medical team doesnt injure players, they treat players who were injured under the management of Pep Guardiola.  You don't like the injury list, stop injuring all your damn players.  If the manager cant control it, how can the medical team control it after the fact

Pep is such a cock. Maybe he should look at his training methods instead of blaiming the medical staff. Sometimes you just have one of those seasons where players pick up a lot of injuries, it happens. He's always come across as a dick. I remember that day when he slapped Thiago Alcantara. If he slapped me like that i would have punched the prick in the face.

It's funny because Pep is always held up as a model of class and dignity in comparison with Mourinho. Not sure Jose has ever caused the entire club medical staff to walk out en masse.

Pep is like wenger...can do no wrong...remember the outrage when wenger pushed jose earlier in the season? no, thought not...

I got into a similar debate as Bobby with someone over how pep still has a lot to prove and never built anything of his own...the reply was well same could be said for Jose...

as I reeled off how he turned Porto into uefa cup, then cl winners (on top of domestic success), made key signings and massive impact to turn us from nearly men to serial winners (inc long after he left), taking Inter to CL (I accept that mancini already made them serie a champions so not much of a feat to win it again, but CL was big triumph), plus rebuild a second chelsea side hopefully about to win title now, he still wasn;t having it...the only place you could say it was gifted on a plate was madrid and even then he was up against best barca side in history.

it's laughable when people allow bitterness and jealousy to get in the way of facts

I think Pep gets a bit of leeway because he constructed the best football team that many of us have ever and will ever see. That's not something that just happens, even with the benefit of La Masia to help you. He did make a lot of changes to that club, although you could argue that Laporta and Rijkaard started that. But to sell off big stars and have faith in youth is something a lot of pundits, reporters and supporters would admire.

I have no idea how much of Bayern's injury issues are down to his methods and how much are down to the medical staff, although I did read something yesterday about how the medical staff aren't actually at the training ground but are at a clinic in town which struck me as mightily odd. I can't imagine us not having doctors at Cobham on a daily basis.

He's made Bayern a far less effective team since taking over and they are no where near as good on they eye as they were before he joined up.

Hope City get him.

I disagree; Rijkaard constructed it and Messi was already beginning to come into his own. What Pep did was add the finishing touch by selling some underperformers/has-beens (Deco, Ronaldinho) and obviously the team became far more lethal under his stead, so for that he deserves credit. However, the nucleus of a great side was already there.

I could swear you're agreeing with me?

The biggest change came in Laporta's election as president which saw a dramatic shift in the ideology at Barca. Rijkaard began that to great effect and Guardiola took it to new heights - I think some may underestimate how hard that is for a lot of managers to do, in much the same way not every manager could come in and do what Jose did in 2004.

rijkaard also carried on from cruyff who began the whole process, with a few others in between.

I think the disagreement comes in how much of Barcelona's success could be attributed to Pep and how much could be attributed to Rijkaard. A bit pedantic I guess, but whatever.

I would like to see Pep take over a side that isn't already great or at least doesn't have world-class potential like his 2008 Barcelona side did and elevate them to unprecedented heights. Unlike Jose (Porto) and even Simeone (Atletico Madrid), he's never really done this.

rijkaard also carried on from cruyff who began the whole process, with a few others in between.

He did carry on Cruyff's tradition, though Barcelona weren't a terribly impressive side for some years until Rijkaard was hired and even then he needed a season or so to rejuvenate them.

Yeah, Bayern's head doctor, who is 72 and has been doing that job at Bayern for 38 years has resigned.

Confirmed: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32347136

"For unexplained reasons, it was the medical department that was chiefly blamed for the defeat.

"The relationship of trust has been permanently damaged".
