Valerie why is that, job stress?

Another point on player R & R, isn't this the first season with a winter break?

I believe that begins next season, not this season. I could be wrong, I'll have to look into it

Yes, job stress has been increasing for me, and it's getting harder to distance myself from work during "off time". I imagine that is the case for a lot of people, especially so for people under public scrutiny like footballers.

I thought the winter break was starting the season after this one?

When would the first winter break be?

It will be introduced from 2019-20, when the next TV deal kicks in. The recent TV rights deals, which were awarded earlier this year, were more flexible to allow for a winter break if desired.

Yes people's digestion normally gets worse as they get older and of course they can be hounded out of hours by modern technology.

Just imagine also if the Smart Tech bothers you too, I used to get the occasional migraine when younger now it is really difficult.

If Sarri is going to play 4-3-3 then I think RLC is going to struggle to get much playing time. All depends whether he's viewed as a midfielder or a wide player, but for both I think we already have better options.

In the midfield three, Jorginho and Kante are a shoe-in for two of the slots, which leaves Fabregas, Barkley and RLC all competing for one place, assuming we don't sign any more midfielders before the transfer window shuts.

If he's under consideration as a wide player, then he's definitely behind Hazard and Willian in the pecking order, and presumably competing with Pedro as a back up, and possibly even Musonda and Moses as well. Plus any new winger we might sign.

I'd be surprised if he has any chance at all of being in our front line starting XI.

I think the club will want to loan him, although I imagine he'll insist on being sold if the club decide he's surplus to the first team squad for 2018/19.

Anyone else notice he was wearing the number 12 when he came on last night? Suggests he'll be around for the new season.

Taking over the shirt number of his idol and a Chelsea legend is a big burden though.

Surprised he didn’t even make the bench today with Willian getting the nod despite his arriving late for pre-season and not having played any minutes yet.

This is before Hazard and Kante have reported back yet too, could find chances hard to come by this season.

Apparently the official premier league website have him listed as on loan to palace again this season.

Here's the link

May explain why he didn't play in the Charity Shield?

Possible sweeter in any deal for Zaha?

Just an admin mistake on the Premier League's website?

And immediately beneath that it says 2018/2019 Chelsea.

We don't always have to jump to the worst conclusion,  do we?

Not jumping to any conclusions, just sharing what I saw

If he goes cus he doesn't fit the latest coaches systems fair enough , but realistically we know the coach wont be around in 2 years time,

RLC is one of those very rare animals - an academy graduate whose good enough to be in a squad of players who made the WC semi finals,

but he will be sold on / loaned cus  of the ongoing managerial merry go round most likely - why bother with an academy then ?

(I know its a small earner as a football factory but it must cost a lot to fund).

I thought his penalty miss in the Arsenal game typified RLC for Chelsea. Lacks confidence and an ability to make a real impact on the game. He shows flashes but never takes his chances to really impress.

Compare to Hudson-Odi who is assertive and not afraid to have go, it doesn’t feel like RLC will make it here unfortunately.

The penalty was saved by arguably one of the best shoot out keepers of all time. You're thinking too deep. Certainly more credit to Cech than blame on RLC for that miss.

Straws.....................clutching.....................................!!

Cech (bar THAT CL Final) really doesn't have a great record in saving penalties.

Still, to predict a young players future from one penalty is akin to choosing a book for it's cover.

Saved 17 and missed 59 in his career. 1 in 4 penalty saves is good i'd say.

Just don't recall Cech getting too close to many when he was our keeper (as good as he was).

But it was kinda tongue in Loftus-cheek! Of course I would not look to offload a player on the basis of missing one penalty. Who on earth would do that - bar perhaps Mourinho with Lukaku?!!

One of the best shoot out stoppers of all time? I mean I know you like RLC but cmon. At one point for Arsenal he conceded like 15-16 in a row and dove the wrong way for 90% of them. It was a sh*t penalty.
