He actually didn't though, 22 passes out of 28 makes makes his passing accuracy 78% which is lower than Jorginho that had 41 passes made with 80%.

2 shots ( same as Chalobah ).

3 interceptions is 1 more than Jorginho.
3 times fould is 1 more than Jorginho.

Personally I think pass completion is a misleading stat. A bit like corners. Perhaps both should have two elements. Pass completion % and Passes over 10 yards % along with Corners and Corners resulting in a shot/header requiring defending

Totally agree WhiteWall.

If you are a billionaire, putting together a midfield to challenge for titles, money no object, you wouldn't have any of Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante, let alone RLC, anywhere near your recruitment strategy, and that is the nub of the current problem. We simply need a complete overhaul in midfield.

Just gone and had a look. Different stats on whoscored.com Gol.

Jorginho 55 passes 78.2% success rate.

RLC 27 passes 81.5% success. Off course RLC played 17 minutes less than Jorginho.

Very interesting to compare the match stats of United's DM Casemiro to our own recycling midfielder.

Casemiro 56 passes 82.1% success rate. You can also see a difference in their respective offensive passing inputs during the game.

Jorginho long balls 1

Casemiro long balls 6

And to illustrate that Casemiro is yet  another EPL DM that is not purely defensive, in their last 4 matches:

Jorginho - Long balls 4, Through balls 0, Crosses 0, Key passes 1, Assists 0.

Casemiro - Long balls 14, Through balls 1, Crosses 1, Key passes 5, Assists 1.

Which adds yet more evidence to my view that we don't need a recycling midfielder.

That's a you problem then. Pretty sure Fbref is far more accurate. RLC had a poor game anyway.

Jorgniho, Kovacic and Kante were at some point of their career fighting for titles, RLC never.

Maybe so, but in October 2022 it is patently obvious that we need a complete midfield overhaul - no exceptions !

Kante and Jorginho are leaving in the summer.

Once we get new midfielders RLC won't be getting so many minutes, after all if Kante was healthy RLC would be the one sitting on the bench the most out of all mentioned players.

"Amid the hubbub, Loftus-Cheek had the highest pass accuracy of any Chelsea midfielder on Saturday. No Chelsea player had more shots or made more interceptions than him and nobody on the pitch was fouled more than him".

Gol must be turning in his grave

RLC has a premier league title, Kovacic has a La Liga title, Kante has two Premier League titles.

Jorginho has zero league titles.

Hope this helps.

I can’t help but feel that our plodding football started with and continues with Jorgi. I love the way he always shows for the ball and never shirks his responsibility but where are the direct assists, let alone goals? Against ManU he typically has the ball in a potentially dangerous advanced position but does nothing incisive with it. We have too many players who simply don’t produce anything … don’t start me on Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech etc …

Head on over to the Jorginho thread Ossie. And strap yourself in for hours of fun.

Still better than RLC ever was. The rest of our midfield had key roles in fighting for titles, RLC is a few levels below the rest and RLC among other things also doesn't produce anything.

I doubt he'd make it into the Fulham team right now, just not good enough and we should cut our loses. Once in a while we look at him and think - if only he could do B and C, he'd be a really good player. The fact is he will never get there, at least not with this team.

How much money did we spend in the summer again to end up with RLC as our most regularly starting midfielder and Havertz as our striker?

We waste money almost as badly as the UK government...

Tuchel didn’t deem the midfield a priority until Leeds battered us.

Lost for words.

Why is he starting so many games this season? It already started unter Tuchel to be fair but it's getting a bit ridiculous now. The guy is a passenger. Decent squad player but should be nowhere near starting games against top teams in the PL.

We must have had Harry Potter on the touchline. Because it was magic how Arsenal had all the possession in our middle, yet Loftus cheek was nowhere to be seen. The fact he made barely any mistakes in that second half was more down to him hiding the whole time. How is gallagher or zakaria not getting ahead of that.

Squad player at best.  Honestly I don't remember a single thing he did today.  So slow on and off the ball, always turns back, and offers nothing in attack from midfield.  Not good enough and should be moved on.

He was always at this level, only difference between now and before is the "he's young" excuse can't be used anymore.

He's okay as a supersub and passable as a back up RWB but as a starting CM he is very very average.
