January 27, 201511 yr In fairness looking at the squads he inherited creativity wasnt the problem. first squad had duff, robben, Joe Cole. 2nd time round Hazard, Salah, Oscar, Schurle, signed Willian (does he class as creative?) And again he's inherited a team with a lot of creativity too. Now, his supposed targets are back to that Pragmatic ilk, while Salah and Schurrle are meant to be off? I'm just being way too paranoid here, perhaps; however, I just don't feel overly confident about the people we're supposedly targeting
January 28, 201511 yr http://footballua.tv/news/football/20259--sergij-palkin-z-privodu-kosti-shhe-vedemo-peregovori/ CFC continues negotiations over the Douglas Costa transfer. General manager of Shakhtar Sergei Palkin told channel "Football 1" that the talks are still ongoing. "We are negotiating with Chelsea. As usual, everything will be decided in the last days of the transfer window. Therefore in the next 2-3 days it will become clear - whether we have an agreement or not."

Both very creative flair players.

He's a hard-working player but he's got an abundance of skill, an eye for goal and likes to throw in a trick or two. Compare that to Salah who is sh*t. He might not be a pragmatic sh*t but he's still sh*t. He also signed Fabregas who is about a creative a midfielder there is. I'm not convinced in the slightest by the Douglas Costa signing though.
February 2, 201511 yr With Cuadrado coming in i really hope that we don't go in for Costa. From what i've seen he's not that great. Rather save money to go after Varane or Pogba in the summer. Maybe jose wants a left footer and there aren't many out there.
February 2, 201511 yr Not seen much of him but do remember him being linked with Arsenal and a few other clubs a while back. Here we are...the definitive guide to a player's ability - courtesy of Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo3oxO6m794&feature=youtube_gdata_player
February 2, 201511 yr Oliver Todd: Looks like Shakhtar Donetsk’s Douglas Costa definitely won’t be coming to Chelsea today.'The Ukrainian club’s CEO Sergey Palkin told Ukraine’s Sport Express: ‘Yes, it is true that Douglas Costa said in an interview that he would like to try his skills at Chelsea.'This is good, but first the clubs need to reach an agreement. After this happens, Costa can go and talk to the media about his desire to play for Chelsea.'Asking won’t do anything. He has a contract that he is required to fulfill. If we reach an agreement with Chelsea – he’s going to London. If not, he’s staying with Shakhtar.’

Youtube videos are not a definitive guide on who to sign. But they can useful when deciding who not to sign I think.
February 2, 201511 yr Hehe, yeah, just the one goal. And youtube videos are all you need these days... ask Harry Redknapp!

Not another average attacking midfielder please.. we should rather get one world class than buying 2-3 average ones.

He's just another hard worker with not all that much quality.

March 15, 201511 yr How do these Brazilian players who play in average league's become so highly rated ? I am yet to be impressed by any of these players. Willian got his reputation from Shakhtar Hulk got his from Porto and now Zenit Ramires got his from Benfica Fernandinho got his from Shakhtar Fernando got his from Porto Douglas Costa is getting his from Shakhtar I'm not saying no good players can come from these leagues because that would just be ridiculous, we have seen plenty of world class players play in weaker leagues. But the Brazilian players seem to get rated very highly and cost a ridiculous amount of money when really they ain't that great at all. I don't understand it, these Brazilian's must have great agents
March 15, 201511 yr Best place to buy brazilians is usually from Brazil itself, and certainly not leagues in eastern Europe.
March 15, 201511 yr Would much prefer to take a punt on memphis depay, who is cheaper, and looks like he could go on to reach a level close to hazard. Costa doesn't look like he will be as good as willian, who is probably still a level down from what we want in the 1st team.

It would cost a bomb but Bale said he'd return to England if the offer was right, I'd go all in for him.
