Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23

Featured Replies

I think he relies too much on his pace, but of course - I'd love to be wrong.

I think his pace is a massive weapon for him and there's been precious few games since he's been here where there's been acres of space for him to run into. He showed a bit more against Sunderland but I think the conservative way we played in the second-half of the season really didn't play to his strengths.

The problem is who else is out there? Griezmann possibly, but then there's just the Gaitans and Douglas Costas of this world.

I think he relies too much on his pace, but of course - I'd love to be wrong.

In the few times we have seen him he just doesn't look THAT fast either.

He rarely beat a man when on the park.

Jose say's he remembers him from his time at Inter so he's had 4/5 years since then to see the progression of Cuadrado. Early impressions are not good and we need to see a completely different player if he's to justify his place and price.

Seeing Salah run riot in Italy fills me with doubt since he was just as bad as Cuadrado here before he made the move.

Fingers crossed but even I am fearing he will not be good enough now.

He gets until January to save his Chelsea career by the sounds of it.

I'd wager on a repeat of Salah.

Few sub par games, subs then punted out on loan mid season.

Problem with that is Jose's wasted money at that time twice on the trot on the right hand side.

The frustrating thing is that when he started against Everton he showed pace, he showed some very nice touches and interplay with other players and he showed an ability to beat a man and put in a dangerous ball.

But from then on he didn't get consistent game time and looked increasingly hesitant when he did get a chance. If it's self-esteem and ego issues then Jose has got to shoulder some of that blame.

Jose on Cuadrado:

"In four or five months he has been with us, he began an adaptation that is not easy. And he was champion, has won a Cup, and that will always be in his career. He has suffered, and it is normal, one thing is to play in Italy and one in England. One thing is to play Fiorentina and over at Chelsea. And it is not easy to come here in January, a team that is winning and who is playing well, and adapt to another system: Fiorentina played with five defenders, we do four, "

"People don't know Cuadrado yet. We have followed him in Italy, Udinese, When I headed to Inter. I've seen him play many times and is a guy that I have many hopes for next season. I hope that in the Copa America can feed their self-esteem, his ego,  He can feel joy of playing ".

I hope Cuadrado is a good player and worth the money. He is lot closer to Schurrle than Willian as a player. He looks for the goal and not the formation.

I like the words from Jose. Juan seems like a confidence-player just like Malouda was. If he's not in form it is a sad sight.

Can't go past a statue let alone a peruvian. 3/10 so far. Stupid decisions! Why doesn't Peckerman just swap him is beyond me. Falcao just subbed of after quiet 65mins

His decisionmaking in this game against Peru is just awful. He is doing more damage for them than good. He is not very intelligent player IMO..

He has been Columbias weakest player by far, 9/10 times he will loose the ball. The worst part is that he looses it in dangerous positions, wich could easily be avoided by making a simple pass instead of trying to dribble. Whenever he does loose the ball, or he is out of position, he will jump into a rash challange to try win it back. He could easily have been sent off when he lunged into one of his challanges in todays game.

I assumed he was better for columbia than us. Looked the same. Falcao very poor again too. We really need to sign a Greizmann or someone and keep remy. Otherwise I'm worried about falcao and Cuadrado getting a considerable number of minutes.

Seen enough of Cuadrado now to believe that signing him was a huge blunder. There's a reason no other club would go anywhere near him. He's bloody useless.

To think we let De Bruyne and Schurrle go then sign Cuadrado beggars belief.

I'd like to know who's sanctioning these ridiculous decisions.

The Falcao nonsense just makes things worse.

Just commenting on what I've seen. Not stupid enough to base everything on one game but it doesn't look good. He is a lot better than that game but he was so stupid and frustrating in the game it is really hard to feel any different.
