Well if rumours are to be believed big kurt is off on loan(Don't understand that) so that just adds more fuel to the fire that we will be signing a defender.

These 'signings' could be players already at the club out on loan. For example Bamford, Kalas and Van Ginkel would all be new additions to the first team which makes them new players. I would actually prefer those three than spending money on 3 new players. I remember reading Mourinho say he considers returning players 'like new signings'.

The defender might just be a full back if Filipe Luis is off.

Why on earth would you let Zouma go on loan after his season?

Unless the signings are the highest quality, prefer to bring back a couple of the loanees.

I wouldn't mind Alderweireld since he can play in several positions (RB, CB, DM) and he has already played 1 year in PL. 

 

I'm not sure what Mourinho means with midfielder, since that could mean DM, CM, or AM/winger. Ideally we would sell Cuadrado and replace him with Reus, Griezmann or Sterling. We could then add a box to box midfielder to strengthen our squad, Veratti, Witzel, Imbula etc.

 

Hopefully our new striker is one of these: Benteke or Lacazette.

I think Chalie Austin is just an average striker that has been lucky infront of goal, 3 of his 18 goals have been penalties btw. I haven't been impressed when I have seen him play and the stats show that he has a weak possesion, pass completion, Successful take ons and chances created score compared to most strikers. Costa as an example destroys him in those stats with 1000 less minutes.

Yup. Just another in a long line of average strikers who have half-decent seasons at small clubs.

I doubt he will change that much, he had simillar stats in the Championship. Charlie Austin strongest attribute is his aerial ability, if we wanted someone dominant in the air though, then Benteke has 187 Aerial duels won (54.84% success) compared to Austins 86 (31.27% success).

Mourinho has consistently said over past few months he will buy three players this summer

3 players in, I can't imagine we will spend alot.

 

Alderweild, Falcao and Imbula are my predictions.

It also all depends on who, if anyone, we sell.

 

Get a few million from our Youth team and hanger-on's and we could certainly strengthen our squad, assuming we stick to the mantra of "sell to buy."

 

However, if we use some of the TV and Yokohama money, we could certainly look much higher.

 

Ideally, Varane, Pogba, Griezmann (counting as a forward)

Vietto, Griezmann, Varane -- not sure how realistic that is.
