Radamel "the project" Falcao

Featured Replies

It must be awful for Falcao to be in this position, all because of an injury. Unfortunately for him, a football club is not a charity however, and his latest injury certainly isn't helping his cause.

He needs to go, if at all possible.

I do think that if Falcao was to go and play in the Italian league or the Spanish league again it may suit him more than the premier league.

I'm not saying he will score as many as he did for athletico or Monaco but his style of play might just help him adapt to them leagues

Apart from Drogba every other CF we have bought has been an unmitigated disaster...time to have a serious look at the kids and stop wasting a ton of money..they can't be any worse than what we are seeing at the moment.

I think you're right

Costa has been dreadful as well eh?

Costa has been dreadful as well eh?

Well he ain't exactly setting the world on fire now is he?  I think he brings something different but fans can't say he is a great CF for us after one season.. because the defenders didn't know how to handle him he was successful, now they figured him out it's a different ball game. Drogba was relatively consistent season over season until his last couple of years; he was great in the air as well as on the ground...lets just wait and see if Costa can replicate that....I hope he can

I'd almost agree.. If Costa goes on to never score again and falls into Chelsea obscurity then I'd have to look back over the last 10 years and say our strikers have been disasters (baring Drobga.  That's IF Costa fails to start scoring again.  I think he will.

I'm also not saying it's neccesairly been the strikers fault, some of them were played out of position, not given a run of games, expected to do more with 2 minutes at the end of the game because they were behind an obvious first choice.

At the moment hes playing quite poorly but to call his 1 1/2 seasons with us an unmitigated disater is just wrong. Sure if he continues like this for another season or two thats a little more fair but come on, hes a huge reason we won the league. Its a little early to start comparing him with Sheva or Mutu.

I do understand what you're getting at, we're dreadful at finding good fowards for some reason

Is he back from injury? Wouldn't mind seeing him get a few games considering how awful Costa has been.

He's back in training. All will be well now.

he really does need a run of games tbh. he hasn't been given a fair shake since i come here to prove himself. i doubt he gets picked over costa or (maybe) remy though.

Sure, he needs a run of games. Question is, can we afford to give it to him?

No, because he is very poor when given game time and we are in too much of a sh*t storm just now to be giving players like Falcao the time to regain whatever confidence he has left in himself.

Rip up the loan deal and bring someone in who actually can but the ball in the back of the net.
