December 18, 201510 yr I know they're not your bitter rivals as say Arsenal or Spurs/Liverpool are but does it annoy any of you lot how entitled the British football media make United? Mourinho gets sacked by Chelsea, He's barely left the door and they are already touting him as the next United manager and how he always wanted the United job and how he cried when Moyes got it blah blah. It's just the media for you, it makes for a juicy story they report it, whether it's true or not. It's clear there are golden boys to the media and all the clubs you mentioned are definitely that.

Bobby is right. The media don't care about factual accuracy, nor do they care about the impact of the stories that they write. They write what they think will sell and, it would appear, that writing nonsense about United sells papers. It's the same thing during the transfer period. The papers link United to everyone going (which obviously cannot be the case) and always have. If we had bought all of the players we have been linked to over the years, we would be able to fill OT with the number of players. This has got nothing to do with the club and everything to do with the media wanting to sell papers, ad space, etc. We get just as annoyed at the media for linking us to millions of players during the summer months, or calling the end of the club every year, as I assume you do seeing United stories everywhere. Not sure if you're new to the role of the media in football but this was inevitable. This story was written by desperate journalists that were creaming themselves for Mourinho get sacked by Chelsea just so they can stir up the pot even more. We sell papers. December 19, 201510 yr I don't necessarily think the media are bias towards or against anyone tbh, they just do what they think sells. I mean of course there are individuals who do dislike or prefer certain teams but overall its about selling the story. It also depends on who is in the media at what time, in 10 years time there might be loads of ex Chelsea and ex Chelsea in the media, on TV or whatever who obviously prefer our teams. It will happen from now until the end of time unfortunately and no matter what the medias preferences are they will always report the most negative or most convenient stories that will sell.
December 19, 201510 yr I think Journalists like most pundits, don't really think outside the box. They all come out with nothing original. Only writer who I really enjoy reading is Martin Samuel because he does consider things from all angles and from different perspectives.

Was quizzed on the headline "Mourinho syas Players Betrayed Him" (to that effect) and then the clip showed the actual qoute which essentially was "I feel my gameplan was betrayed, is that the right word?".Mr Mokbel had the following three points to make in quick succession. 1) Well ya, in reality, the headline was very different from what was actually said and it was intentionally if not knowingly misleading....but 2)It was a good headline because it got your interest better than what he actually said..... and 3) Well it was a justified headline because they knew Mourinho wanted them to say that, to make the "issue" or ask the "question" if you will. That Mourinho always does anything on purpose and by saying betrayed, despite questioning the aptness of the word, he clearly wanted the media to claim the players betrayed him. He looked very pleased with his arguements too. Just goes to show how dumbed down sections of the media are. You can make a career out of intentionally misqouting people and just playing to certain populit agendas. Mourinho isnt the only target by any stretch, just a popular target. He writes for the Daily Mail who are one of the worst for doing misleading headlines. They know that very often people will just read headlines or will only read an article if it has an exaggerated headline. Most football 'journalists' are idiots, but the DM and the Sun are amongst the worst.

December 19, 201510 yr Mata having a shocker for Utd. Once again he is playing in a United team that doesn't suit his style. When he joined us, the system suited him perfectly, that is why he was so good. If Mourinho does go to United, then Mata will be gone. He need's to play for a team that likes to pass through teams.
December 19, 201510 yr Leicester barely hanging on. They just about got there in the end by the skin of their teeth - really proud of them and what they've achieved thus far, to think they'd be topping the leader board come Christmas!

If Mourinho does go to United, then Mata will be gone. He need's to play for a team that likes to pass through teams. I'm not sure if it's solely due to United's playing style though, I think he's just generally been in a poor run of form.

But that's to his detriment, mourinho intimated mata wasn't in his team because he has to accommodated. And it looks like he's right. if you build around mata then hes outstanding, otherwise hes lost.
December 19, 201510 yr Newcastle 1 Villa 0. If Newcastle take 3 points, they are above us again in the table.
