First I've heard of it but would make sense

seeing that west ham won us the world cup we should show the utmost respect

It's the media more than West Ham who are making a big deal about them leaving Upton Park. West Ham have gotten a large, modern stadium for a knock down price, have seen the £ sign and gone for it. If they were very committed to Upton Park they wouldn't leave but football is going the way it is and West Ham are following.

It's things like that that make me think is football still for me. It's just such a commercial thing now that the actual sport is secondary to most things. I mean we live in an age where people actually value a top four finish over winning the league cup or FA Cup. It just really saddens me.

i see that too. the deal was wrapped up in 2 days, whereas utd have been linked with him for weeks/months. apparently utd opted out of the deal because of the fee and add ons. i thought money was no object to them though? seems odd. however i never understand why these 18 year olds are desperate to move at such a young age, especially to a huge club like bayern. why not stay at benfica and ply their trade for a couple more seasons then make the move to a big club if they progress as they have.

Injuries my friend, If he gets injured at Bayern next season, He'll come back the year after stronger or at least attempt to, If he turns down the big move and he gets injured next year for Benfica, The psychological damage of turning down a big move and having to do all that rehab as well means the next time he gets on the field for Benfica not only will he constantly be worrying about whether or not he is fully fit and feeling it but in the back of his mind he will know he's missed his moment. A perfect example is John Stones, Mourinho want's him to be the poster boy for Chelsea, To play in the heart of the defense for the Champions etc etc He doesn't take the offer seriously or push for a move hard enough (too scared to feel the wrath of those nutcase merseyside fans) and Everton inevitably reject the bids and now you can't give him away, Unless he starts in the Euro's and has a blinder, His value in the market is £25 million at best now plus he's had one or two injuries to deal with as well, Take your chance is my advice.

€35m initial fee + €45m in bonuses similar to Martial deal so he stuff like FIFAproXI, Balon D'Or, UCL final, etc... So if he is good he will more or less be worth the full €80m price tag....
