They'll more likely continue to rotate Ramos, Varane and Pepe i'd think.

The bid for stones makes me think this transfer rumour is dead in the water, which is a shame as he's a great player with lots of time to improve

Yep, this rumor has been killed before it started.

Will probably be a similar price to what Varane would have cost, is a year younger, home grown and EPL proven.

All around probably a better option.

Chelsea's "captain, leader, legend" may soon have to settle for simply being a legend of the club, with the Mail reporting that John Terry is fearing for his Stamford Bridge future after the Premier League champions made an enquiry about Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane.
 

Now it's just getting silly. 

from what i've read in july varane is indeed our main target, we made enquires, real simply said he's not for sale

i don't think varane himself would want to go, the fat waiter promised him starting in more games and the chance to displace pepe in the starting XI this season and perez also said that he's going to be real's defensive centerpiece for the next years

To add to that, Pepe is 32. Varane has already made 117 appearances for Madrid at 22. Last season he started 36 matches including all the champions league knockout games.

 

It would take a bid of 50m+ for them to even consider our offer. Yeah, good luck with that 'alternative'.

Varane pisses on stones in terms of quality. Highly unlikely they'll sell with rafa in charge, especially not to us. How much are we planning to spend? 70 for pogba, varane would be at least 50-60.

Starting tonight and commentary seems to think he's been guaranteed more minutes and will be seen as the future of the club.

He will not leave that club

 

I don't see us having any chance of signing him at the moment. Perhaps in a few years' time once he's won La Liga and maybe the UCL too. But at the moment it would make no sense for him to leave. 

I'd love Varane, but he's unattainable I feel. I wonder should we sign a slightly more seasoned centre half this season, someone like Subotic (just a random suggestion, any seasoned CB with pedigree would do) and then try to get Stones or another highly rated youngster next season. Our goalkeeper is 23, Zouma is 20 then there's Oscar, Hazard, Moses, Traore, RLC, Kenedy, Baba, we have a very young squad overall, maybe a seasoned international would be a good choice for this year if we are looking for a CB. Not that i'd be against signing a young talent like Stones, but signing an older player for less money wouldnt be a terrible piece of business in my mind
