*Official* Pedro to Chelsea

Featured Replies

I can see Pedro playing LWB in some of lesser home games, just as he did  yesterday and at the end v tottenham. Has the work rate for it and its not as if Alonso is amazing defesively.

Allows him Willian and Hazard to all play too.

The issue with that is Pedro is a natural attacker and hence positionally he will always play in a more advanced position than a LWB therefore we will end up playing a 4-4-2 instead of a 3-4-3 because Cahill will be pushed wider to cover Pedro leaving Luiz & Azpi at CB.

In theory it could work but from a practical point of view it leaves the team completely unbalanced and exposed defensively.

Pedro at LWB should be the last throw of a dice when we are chasing the game, can't rely on an attacking midfielder to defend. For me, he looked a frustrating/poor player when he's not scoring goals, and needless to say he needs Cesc in the team to put the through balls in to be effective.

Can it be adjusted? We have kante.. pedro has the speed and work rate, just like willian and personally I prefer willian because he's harder to beat among the 2, giving more insurance in defence but the manager picked pedro so pedro it is at the moment..

If kante is being used as purely a sitting defensive midfielder then he should be able to cover, delaying the runaway attacker, by that time,  pedro should be able to get back or depending how far the attacker managed to drag kante off his default positon in centre midfield, pedro has to fill the void temporarily there, of course this will depend on how intelligent pedro is but I think this 1 can be coached..

The flexibility of the players could prove important for a top collective performance..  In theory, it's not impossible to have the team play intelligently..

I've seen that clip of Pedro's little pirouette loads of times now, but still not sure how the hell he did it! A remarkable piece of skill! Made in Barcelona.

He's having a stonking season so far. A transformed player under Conte.

Pedros best attributes are the movements and combinations, that's why I and a few others didn't write him off last season, because we weren't playing the football to suit his style.

If we can somehow sign a technical striker (or even better Dybala but very unlikely) then whoever we sign Pedro and Hazard would be a dynamic trio to watch, also add hopefully Costa staying and Willian too we would have plenty of variety. I was hoping Martial would have been Jose's new KDB and we took advantage but any rift they have look to be a thing of the past sadly.

Pedro has really found his true level. He has always been quality and now it is showing.

Completely agree. Last season he looked a showdow of the player we have seen this year (touch wood). Possibly due to confidence? Conte has obviously shown faith in him and it has worked wonders. I mean, he's keeping Willian out of the team and that shows how well he's playing.

He's better working behind shadows, he excels when people forget about him.

I'm glad he came to us after Barcelona.

I know today it's only Brentford today, but I feel like he's deserving of a mention for this seasons form.

This has been the Pedro I thought we'd signed at the start of last season. He's been the player that he was at Barca for us, really consistent as well bar a few off days!

long may it continue.

This season is the Pedro from Barcelona, completely adapted and a new man under Conte, saying this he didn't have a poor debut season. He must start against Arsenal as he was far better than Willian even when he came on against Liverpool.

10 Goals and 7 Assists so far this season, can't believe people ever doubted him.

I have a feeling some people still aren't convinced that he's any good.

Love Pedro, top player with Barcelona and showing us what he can do this season. Like to see him up top rather than as a wing back, defending is not something that many players at Barcelona particularly spent to much time worrying about. Will prove a great asset in next seasons European campaign.
