August 11, 20178 yr Ruled out for Burnely due to ankle injury. That makes four starters out for the game: pedro, VM, Hazard, Bakayoko. Is Musonda ready to step in to the starting squad or do we switch formation? Not sure we have much else choice but to play Musonda...not enough depth in CM to switch to 3-5-2 Edited August 11, 20178 yr by TheChelsRVA
August 12, 20178 yr Well well well lots of sh*t talking when I said Salah should have got more of a chance or at least kept around as an option for a rainy day , well that rainy day is here look at our bench, I also said that he would score 20 for Liverpool this season......and he scores on his debut

Listen I know he isn't a top player but I just think a fast player that can steal goals is always useful, he doesn't demand big wages, it's not going to keep me up at night I was just reinforcing a point a player like him would be useful right now

Hmmm top scorer, I also thought he was basically pedro with goals, less refined but useful to keep around.

He wouldn't get the same number of chances with us and from what I have seen he needs to miss a few sitters before he can score. He is perfectly suited to Liverpool's system but he would not be suited to ours. I said at the beginning of the season that he would score more goals than Willian and Pedro but I'd prefer either of them in the side as they are both much better all round footballers, and that opinion hasn't changed.

Yea I can see what you're saying, tbh in this system Pedro and Willian and just rotation players, but I would fancy a pace player that always runs in behind with an eye for goal to be able to bring on or play with Morata in order to rest Hazard, I wouldn't say Liverpool create more chances than us though, I think Cesc has created more chances than anyone in Europe 34 this season, we create plenty of chances, he would also be good on the break, no good crying over spilled milk, we seem to have found our team and we are playing well, I think willian and pedro are faded a bit, however, we are actually covered everywhere now except WB and and in that forward role.
November 20, 20178 yr I would play our 'second team' at Quarabag like we do in the League Cup and save the first team for Liverpool. I've a feeling that City's winning run may falter in the near future.

It's literally all our CL Qtrfinal hopes in 1 basket.

Qarabag are not a bad side. The game on Wednesday is more important than Saturday. Play the second team against Liverpool.
November 20, 20178 yr Not necessarily yet if we can't beat Atletico at the bridge we don't deserve to go further. Play your best team for a match against one of your rivals and keep the momentum going.

Don't be silly, the prem will always come above the champions league, especially when we are playing a vile club like the dippers, Munich was brilliant and to say we have won the European cup, can never be taken away, for the last few years and for many more to come we can always hit arsenal or y*ds below the water line in any argument and stop them In their tracks by mentioning Munich. But truth be told that was a one off, we have much more chance of winning the prem than getting anywhere in champs league this season, so Saturday by far is more important. I would snap your hand off if you said lose Wednesday if it meant winning Saturday, win both would obviously be preferable. City will have there hiccup, if we went on another 13 game winning run we would be within 3 points of city im sure. Anyway let's win Wednesday and Saturday.

Plus I suppose they play a similar role we sold one bought one more expensive without giving the first one a go, This side with KDB and Salah would be quite good.

December 12, 20178 yr I don't think he was great tonight, but i think i prefer him in the team over being out of it. I know our current formation get's Fabregas into the team and it suits Hazard better, but when it comes to the team as a whole, we don't look as good. I think we look more fluid with Pedro and Hazard playing as wingers and coming inside to cause trouble. Hazard playing centrally is great to watch, but he can't do it on his own and if Fabregas can't pick out his passes, we look out of ideas. I think playing with two wingers suits the team better because they are constantly moving and keeping the opposition guessing. Eventually they create space for themselves and the wing backs which causes the opposition to leave gaps. You don't see that so much when Hazard is playing through the middle and Fabregas is in the centre. Eveything is through the middle and the wing backs are isolated going forward. I would rather we went back to last season's formation with Pedro in the team, it suited us better.

Agree with you apart from the matches when we are up against strong midfields and then think we should revert to a 3-5-2.

I agree we were better last season in 343, the 352 is just a patch job as we don't have Matic any more, if Drinkwater can fill the role or Bakayoko can improve enough then we can go back to a 2 man midfield with Cesc back as a super sub. I'd like to see Kante-Drinkwater (when he is fully fit and ready) or Kante-Luiz, since Christensen has probably swiped his CB starter role already, there is hope yet to go back to our Champion ways!
