Genuinely cannot believe the hate Costa got in this thread.

Yes, he goes overboard and gets upset over nothing sometimes but f**king hell, everyone asked for more passion and drive from the team and they got it. Costa was a big reason that we won the game, he completely upset Arsenal's balance and emotional state in the game.

You wondered why this thread wasn't more crowded, I gave you a possible explanation. I wasn't taking a dig at you. I wouldn't dare :-)

You're just going easy on me because my Cat's not well

I might have missed your point, I'm not sure I agree with it though as I'm really pointing towards some posters who are usually pretty level headed but then get on the bandwagon saying things like "Mourinho will play his favourites no matter how bad they perform" or Ivan at RB, we're basically effed.

I can understand it to an extent but if I came out with it, I'd be back on after the match hands high pointing out my over reaction.

Horses for courses I know but it would be great to see an excited reaction to a good result of a magnitude akin to the excited reaction we get to a bad one.

It's the cat, absolutely :-)

Perhaps everybody is out celebrating, like Carrickblue said. Still, it isn't unusual that bad news is getting more coverage or attention than good news, it's practically a given. Take comfort in the fact that MOTD will have a lot more Chelsea viewers tonight.

Not sure I'll be one of them, it'll be like a lynch mob after Costa dared to wind up those honest footballing purists from North London.

Sod them.

I missed most of this today, caught the end of the first half. There's always a great sense of satisfaction beating Arsenal. And even more so in circumstances like today.

MOTD will make good viewing for once.

City's home defeat suggests it could be a funny old season. Jose and Costa bringing a new dimension to the game. Pure showbiz.

Wasn't that just the icing on the cake?

I know this has gone in our favour but you really have to question the quality of refeeing in this league, it's beyond a disgrace and really needs looked at

You should see the officials in Northern Ireland!!!

The officials in England are light years ahead.

Oh how I do love beating the gooners...great to see desire and passion in the team again....even Brana looked a bit like his old self..,they can have their poxy community shield win...as always we win the game that really matters

You got to laugh:

And so Gabriel kicked him, or rather flicked a leg back at him – bingo Diego! – right in front of the referee. At which point Costa became instantly the guardian of the game, football’s last true gentleman, shocked – shocked! – to see such rough play, shaking his head sadly as Gabriel exited pursued by a steward.
