January 14, 201610 yr You were probably blind when we were losing matches under José You're in the dirge camp too albeit that I'll say this - Les Epsilon is a much better poster than you: in fact I'd say that you're even stevens for the most consistently irrelevant & dumb poster on this board.
January 14, 201610 yr Sorry bro, THIS ISN'T JOSE MOURINHO FC, IT'S CHELSEA FC. So i will definitely sack Jose after the Eva stuff, bashing the team publicly, losing at home to Bournemouth and the overall bad results. Does his haul of 7 trophies won over 5 full seasons not count for anything then? Should we discard all of that because he was a bit mean to the lady doctor and lost to Bournemouth despite previously holding the most impressive unbeaten home record the league has ever seen? The decision to sack the manager whose success hasn't come close to being replicated by the plethora of managers we've been through was a short sighted one in my opinion.
January 14, 201610 yr Really amazed you took so much time to write an 'article' in response to my post. Although, I will quickly just point this out once more amongst your nonsensical ramblings (as usual). "The owner didn't want to do it & the reason he didn't want to do it is because he knew that both he & the board had rested on their laurels over summer concerning refreshing the squad & because he knew that many of the 1st team squad were under- performing or, not good enough anymore - so he took it upon himself to tell the 1st team squad that he did not want to sack Jose in order that the players could infer that they were now playing for their futures." I know you do realize this is unbelievable stupid. The owner 'knew' he failed Jose in the summer (I won't even go into how you got this juicy information) so he told the players they are playing for their future?. As much as I respect Roman I sometime find it annoying he's an introvert but from the club's official statement when Jose was backed it was stated he had the players to turn around results and when he was sacked, the club statement with precisely these words "The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its potential" was released. So its either your have a 'very reliable' source in the boardroom or your ability to write fanfiction is unbelievable. More malarky from you: so...let's see...you want to further support your original heresy by resort to the official club statement: deary me - you're young (at least I hope so!) - if you can't work it out then there's no hope. But hey, align yourself in some attempt at comfort with a wooden cliched corporate board statement. Oh & by the way: I do have a relationship with a few punters at the club but I guess you know better. You're a lightweight jcl - we all know it as do you. Edited January 14, 201610 yr by youlots

January 14, 201610 yr Meh. What's changed? We still can't see game out and dropping points at home to mid table sides. Hopefully this will show Roman that it's the players and no manager who are the problem here. Gut the squad in the summer because this lot don't look remotely close to winning anything any time soon.
January 14, 201610 yr I think we are playing a lot more positively. In the first half at times we could have blown them away. We are of course a lot more open and the players have so much more freedom to do whatever, so it does leaves us vulnerable at times, but I will take it for an entertaining match. I couldn't take my eye off it last night, under Jose we were so utterly boring.

January 14, 201610 yr Slept off watching 3 games under Jose's regime; ok when we were winning but once we started losing it became a problem. I found myself reading stuff on my phone and looking up every so often for the last 6 months of the Jose reign, it was brutal.

So i will definitely sack Jose after the Eva stuff, bashing the team publicly, losing at home to Bournemouth and the overall bad results. correct but the only thing JM did wrong was still picking players that did not want to play for him. He should have told the media A, B & C are finished and played the ones who would have tried to win games. However we lost the best manager ever and NO he will not come back now.
January 14, 201610 yr Jose's previous success is irrelevant when you have a season as bad as we've had with no improvements in any way on pitch from week to week. If we were 4th to midtable then yeah should have stuck with him but we weren't, we were/are in a genuine relegation fight. The club had no choice. Hiddink has done well in the time he's had I just hope he can improve on the utterly turgid, slow, lethargic football we're playing before he leaves. Totally agree. I see Hiddinks time so far as a work in progress but overall, I would say YES, there has been an improvement. Not gonna lie, was disappointed with result and performance last night as I was with the Man Utd game, but he doesn't have a magic wand to make an instant change, especially when certain players continue to under perform. I agree, as successful as Jose was in the past is irrelevant. Of course we all wanted to stick by him but we're just going over old ground here as some folk feel he had earnt a bum season but this season was becoming a complete disaster. Results, performances - EVERYTHING, had made his position pretty much untenable. As I said in this thread or one of the other threads, following defeat after defeat, I had serious concerns that we could get relegated this season and I don't now, so that has to be an improvement. We were all big fans of Jose but it is clear some more than others and it is no surprise they are going to post every time we don't actually win a game to question his sacking, but come on - have people already forgotten just how dire things had become? January 14, 201610 yr Someone please remind Hiddink it's possible to make 3 subs per game. Instead of taking non-performing players off at HT, why not just bench them for the next game>
January 15, 201610 yr Gosh! I haven't been in this thread before, and am a bit bewildered by some of the theories. LesBlues - if Jose wasn't sacked for consistently poor results, can you be specific about what you believe the motives were for his sacking?

LesBlues - if Jose wasn't sacked for consistently poor results, can you be specific about what you believe the motives were for his sacking? Moi the results didn't cost Jose. His relationship with the players and that 'well executed' post match after Leicester did.
January 15, 201610 yr Moi the results didn't cost Jose, thought the club were willing to grind their teeth until the results got better, unfortunately his relationship with the players and that 'incredible' post match after Leicester did him in.
January 15, 201610 yr Interim Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has admitted the Blues could become embroiled in a relegation battle with defeats to Everton and Arsenal in the next two games. The reigning Premier League champions are 14th after 21 games, 12 points off their stated target of fourth place and just six clear of Sunderland, who occupy the final relegation place. The Blues' predicament prompted Jose Mourinho's departure last month and Hiddink's appointment. Chelsea are unbeaten in six games since Mourinho left, when they were one point off the drop zone, but the midweek draw with West Brom did little to ease concerns. "It's reality," Hiddink said. "We were down when we started. We were one point off the relegation line, but now we have a little bit more room to breathe. "We have two difficult games coming up - Everton, who have a very good away record - and then Arsenal. "If you don't gather points there, you don't know what the others do. The Premier League can surprise you. "There are 12 points difference to fourth place, which is Tottenham. "We all like to look forward and to the top of the table, but also don't be unrealistic - you're six points off the line of relegation. That's also a fact. "We have to work hard and be very concentrated and gather our points to step up. "That's why it was a pity that in the 86th minute we got this draw against West Brom, which would've helped us a lot to go up." January 15, 201610 yr What a horrible season..I really hope next season is brighter. We can't afford to be out of the CL too long, we don't have the riches of United. Otherwise we could end up signing Steven Caulker on a loan deal like other "historic" club.
January 15, 201610 yr Improvement enough to justify sacking our most successful manager ever off the back of league and cup winning campaign? Not for me. The way the team was playing under Jose from the begining of this year, it would be a long long time in the future before we would match that double again. - you're one of the prime reasons why the likes of Chippy & other longterm posters have left this site Total speculation, similar to which you admonished another poster, you can, he can not, that's completely arrogant, still its youlots so does not count.
January 16, 201610 yr He's probably a great father figure and man manager, but his tactics are awful or non-existent. How the f* we didn't lose today was just amazing,90% due to players, Hiddink's team selection and tactics just made everything so difficult. Jose must be wondering why he got all the bad lucks, and never a single offside call his way this season.
January 16, 201610 yr Chances of 4th are completely gone. Just hope he keeps us up, his selection is sh*t and his tactics are non-existent.
January 16, 201610 yr It was a big mistake to play Matic and Pedro again, but unlike Jose, Guus isn't as hard headed and there's less of a chance he'll keep repeating his mistakes in selections. Let's just hope he'll do the right thing and start Kenedy now.
January 16, 201610 yr We started to play 'cautiously' again right after he came in.. well, the positive is we're unbeaten but surely there is another way for that with our quality..
