June 11, 201610 yr I'm feeling quite positive about next season. I think the players will be desperate to prove themselves and put it right. It was obvious that they were desperate for the season to end and it was evident in the performances.

June 11, 201610 yr Whos to say we would of lost the title playing the same way? Just because we lost one game? And Jose's short term approach to winning the league cost us the following year. Players stopped buying into his methods and now we are back to square 1. In answer to your question YES i would have sacrificed the league that season, for us to have had a much better season than we just had and for us to be now established with a brand and identity of football that has been the work of the last 3 or 4 years. Good for you. No use rehashing the same things. Agree to disagree

June 13, 201610 yr Just watched his press conference on BBC any Lazy player at Chelsea need to start looking for a new club now Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
June 13, 201610 yr like the way he set his team to pass out from the back, and press high in defence.
June 13, 201610 yr Let's see if he's a 'shut up shop' kind of manager, or a 'go and finish it' manager ??
June 13, 201610 yr Looks like the go and finish it one I disagree. They were taking it to the corners well before the 2nd goal
June 13, 201610 yr Considering he has two of the best midfielders in the world missing with injury, that was damn impressive.
June 13, 201610 yr Apart from the last ten Italy had total control on that game. He gets his team's organised and makes them sweat every blood and tear they have got, if he can channel his philosophy to our squad we are challenging for the title next season it's that simple. Whether we win it or not is another matter, because Jose before a third season and Pep is daunting opposition, but a few performances like that with us early on and this season just gone will be forgotten very quickly.
June 13, 201610 yr Now he has to set them up against two of the dullest, non-adventurous sides in the tournament so a different test that will be even more intriguing to watch.
June 13, 201610 yr That was a great display of his tactical abilities. Belgium's wide play is poor and Conte exploited that to the fullest. Just wondering if these bunch of softies we have will be able to stand up and take the challenge that Conte throws at them. Just cant see hazard, oscar and RLC being able to maintain the sort of work rate he will demand.
June 14, 201610 yr Its clear how much he running around he wants be it with Juve or Italy. Now he has to do that with Matic, Cesc, Hazard. Something's gonna give and I feel his stay is going to be a short stay.

June 14, 201610 yr So if contes preferred is 3 5 2, pick a team? It is not his preferred formation. http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/serie-a-showcase/conte-2/ Conte has built a reputation of using a formation that best suits the team he has, when you have 3 top centerbacks, Juventus/Italy it makes sense to play 3 at the back.

When we won the title there were stats that came out during the season that had Matic and Cesc as the players who covered the most distance in the league.

"Covering the ground" means nothing. Cesc covers a lot of ground in any match but is it worthwhile. Does he put tackles in? Does he track his runners? Does he put a lung bursting run to make a challenge on the forward? Most of the time, i find cesc "jogging". I would rather have a player who does the needful defensively than simple make up for his "distance covered" stats.
