January 17, 201610 yr Mourinho should never have been allowed to leave, however he has. With that, in my opinion, we will never see him here again as manager. Heartbreaking.
January 17, 201610 yr Two of the reasons mentioned above are what im holding out for. They want Giggs in charge soon and if they really wanted Jose theyd have hired him already
January 17, 201610 yr According to rumors, the Utd board is split with SAF/Sir Bobby's group in favor of Giggs while Ed's group favor Jose. Both would rather have LVG there if their preferred candidate can't get the job. LVG probably can't believe his luck.
January 18, 201610 yr Either way, LVG is going this season or next season so there is an opportunity for Jose at United. Football goes in trends and with Zidane, Pep and the current Barca manager getting a chance, they may go for Giggs. Edited January 18, 201610 yr by JM7
January 18, 201610 yr It's going to happen. United are desperate and LVG is only getting worse. They'll end up with Jose and we'll end up with a journeyman. Next season will be..fun. Can't see us with a journeyman to be honest. And Jose ending up at Utd does not fill me with the same sort of fear as it would have done had he joined them when Fergie left. If it happens, it happens and although I may be proved wrong, I just don't think he is the same coach he was.
January 18, 201610 yr If he goes to United he will win them the title in the first season to two...I think that's a given. Long term? Who knows but he will be allowed to build the side he wants with a budget no one else in England can get close to....that's the real worry.
January 18, 201610 yr Unless he changes his methods, he's going to need a constant stream of money to continue his success. His methods are unsustainable. That said, he will have Fergie beside him who can guide him so who knows.

January 18, 201610 yr The thought of Jose breathing the same air as Shrek makes me sick to my stomach.
January 18, 201610 yr If United dont go for Jose, dont go for Pep and start next season poorly, their fans will go apesh*t. I for one would love that
January 18, 201610 yr Yeah they would be daft to continue with LVG. They're 2 points off 4th which isn't too bad but Spurs and Leciester don't look like slowing down any time soon. If they miss out on CL then he will definitely go.
January 18, 201610 yr Imo man ure will clinch the 4th CL slot. With Leicester in at 3 and the number 1 and 2 between Man city and Arsenal ( it sickens me to say that Peter Cech is playing a vital role in Arsenal, Peter is worth at least about 15 points, especially with his leadership of the back 4) We miss him greatly. We need to recruit some new leaders for our team.
January 18, 201610 yr How does Jose even remotely fit with MUFC's desire to be an all out attacking team playing flair football. Jose is defensive attrition football personified.
January 18, 201610 yr I bet he will be at Real Madrid or MU next season. Man Utd don't want him. They would have approached him before now otherwise. Word is they don't want his feather ruffling style, Bobby Charlton being one of those most vocal against the idea apparently.
January 18, 201610 yr In my eyes the most exciting thing (from a neutral perspective at least) would be Guardiola succeeding van Gaal at Man Utd, and Mourinho taking over at City. Klopp and Pochettino would be decent underdogs in the title race and would likely see their teams gradually but consistently improve. Wenger will presumably keep doing what he is doing. Obviously we (and also Leicester I suppose) are wild cards in terms of what to expect for next season, especially considering it's near impossible to predict who will even be in charge of us!
January 19, 201610 yr Interesting article about the sacking culture in English football and the 'criminalisation' of managers: http://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/premier-league/2015-2016/fergie-wouldn-t-have-survived-digital-age-where-managers-are-treated-as-criminals_sto5064849/story.shtml
January 21, 201610 yr I still can't get over it sadly. He should have stood up and fired Hazard, Costa and Fab to the reserves. They were a virus, that's why he couldn't get the room back. I bet he wishes he had now. And also kissed and made up with Eva wouldn't of hurt. I hope I get it back.... I am so gutted I didn't care JT got the equalizer the other day; I was nearly disappointed when he did. It would have all been different if had stood up and said screw you and played without them. I do wonder thou "IF" he had the choice!!!
January 21, 201610 yr Interesting article in the Guardian yesterday that Jose is no man's land job wise. Apart from United who may or may not want him, he has nowhere else to go. Never thought of it like that.
January 21, 201610 yr International management might be a good option for Mourinho at the moment, I think getting the best players from one country together and coaching them to victory in a tournament, would very much play to his strengths, and would sooth his tortured ego.

Would love to see Jose as England coach in place of Hodgson - think he could end that barren spell. That said, could the FA cope with the "circus"? You imagine if Jose had been Coach when Lampards "goal" that never was against Germany happened!!

January 21, 201610 yr Given the history could JM ever sit in a room and talk to the FA without being fined...? Martinez could be his spokesman to ensure impunity.
January 21, 201610 yr Martinez could be his spokesman to ensure impunity. Press conference: Martinez - The ref was a disgrace to football. I am angry etc etc Jose (pipes up) - Roberto did you say the ref was a disgrace? FA - We felt the need to fine Jose £40k for his remarks.....
January 23, 201610 yr Mourinho is a one trick pony tactically. We also lost Mata, Lukaku & that Kevin bloke on his watch. There's probably others I can't recall, but I don't miss him, his embarrassing rants or his awful style of football.
