February 5, 201610 yr The thing with Jose is that he likes to work in conflict and thrives from it. It's his biggest downfall that he can't work without conflict. Eventually the club and players tire from it. Not sure how the United board will feel about it - unless Jose has changed his approach. I thought he had when he came back a second time but he hasn't. I don't think he would be able to do that in 6 months. And he's approaching a funny age for some of us men, I thought he'd aged quite rapidly towards the end of his time with us.
February 5, 201610 yr United will back him to the hilt and reap the benefits of it. None of this sh*te where you win something then sit on your laurels.
February 5, 201610 yr It will be interesting to see a few things happen if this truly develops. 1) The Rivalry between City and United will be a circus. Akin to the Liverpool versus Chelsea CL rivalries under the FSW and Jose in the past. This could be beneficial for us to be removed from that, assuming we appoint a manager strong enough to rise above the BS. 2) I remember a number of Man Utd fans claiming that they never wanted Jose, that they didn't like his boring style of football, that he was a nuisance, etc. Well, after the Moyes and Louis years, I bet they'll have to retract on those statements somewhat, and be grateful for getting trophies (this may seem presumptuous, but Jose WILL win things with them). 3) The way the media treat Jose now that he's at Utd, as opposed to the villainous Chelsea? And within this thought, there are a couple of sub thoughts. First, if Jose is given a large sum of cash to go and buy whomever he wants, will Utd then be "buying the league" at Utd, or can they skip that accusation because of prior success? Second, will parallels be drawn to the way Fergie often gave the press the cold shoulder and Jose's antics. Or, like he was when he was here, will he be called out for his antics? His antics were one of the things that drove me mad about him being our manager, but you couldn't really complain because of the success. Will the excuse of "shielding his players" start to surface on the Utd forums, or will they call him out on it? 4) How long does he stay at Utd? No way is he pulling a long stint, so if he makes it to a third season, do the press start asking him immediately about his 3rd year woes? Anyway, it will be hard seeing him as another Premiership manager, but the way we have acted with him, it is inevitable. So long as he doesn't run down the sidelines when they beat us 1-0 in the CL (assuming we get back there while he's there), I'll just sit back and watch the side show.
February 5, 201610 yr And he's approaching a funny age for some of us men, I thought he'd aged quite rapidly towards the end of his time with us. I did say quite a while ago (alas can't remember what thread it was in - possibly the Eva thread) that he was going through the male menopause. I think people thought I was joking, but I wasn't. If United hire him then they're saying one thing - we want to win and win now. In that instance he won't have to worry about breaking even or selling players to buy them. He'll have a massive warchest and we'll probably be left behind the top two for a while. From the league's perspective it might mean a return to being the strongest in Europe once again.

February 6, 201610 yr If I could choose 2 realistic candidates to manage Utd it would be 1. Mourinho 2. Pochettino. I am so excited by this news. Even if we get him for just 3 seasons, it will be longer than Moyes and Van Gaal have had He is one of the best manager's in the world. His CV is exceptional. Please happen!

Even if we get him for just 3 seasons, it will be longer than Moyes and Van Gaal have had He is one of the best manager's in the world. His CV is exceptional. Please happen! Hmmmm! One of the biggest club's in the world, who continually boast of their attacking philosophy, suddenly want to hire one of the most 'boring, pragmatic, anti-football' managers on the planet. At least that's the impression of JM I get from MUFC management and fans (both in my circle of friends and on RedCafe) whenever we have given you a bloody nose under his management. A quick look on RedCafe will bring up no end of no end of negative, and often vile, adjectives relating to Jose. What a funny world.
February 6, 201610 yr I think Jose will end up in Manchester United and he will win league next season even with Guardiola managing City.
February 6, 201610 yr With Guardiola at City and Jose probably managing ManU with huge budget to spend we are pretty much fu*ked for at least 2 seasons.
February 6, 201610 yr Jose going to utd will be best thing for us, the circus and shenangans surrounding pep and jose, will be in Manchester, and we might be able to go on quietly with our work, then again this is Chelsea so prob not.

February 6, 201610 yr I'm still really frustrated and disappointed by Jose about this season. Yes he didn't really get backed transfer wise but there was no reason for him to be so aggressive with the players and staff just to create conflict to try and motivate the team. For me, Jose let the fans down. We never saw hardly any of his promises of long term management - no youth, no building for the future, no working within a structure. Just two year Jose who maxes out his squad and can get the best of out them for two years before they burn out. It will be even more annoying if Jose has learnt lessons from this season and adapts his methods to make him a long term manager. Just disappointing, I love the guy but apart from the league title, he failed in his objectives with us.
February 6, 201610 yr Sweet, we'll have Mata back thank you! Whilst I firmly believe Chelsea was his number one choice I do think if we hadn't have come calling he would have gone to Man Utd. And why wouldn't he? He's not 'one of us' and some of the people (mainly on Twitter) who used that phrase time & time again after he was sacked are the same ones who are adamant no player is ever loyal. What makes a manager different? :/
February 6, 201610 yr jose will f**k chelsea again and again and again until the pathetic owner get down on his knees and say i quit

February 6, 201610 yr No he won't. Jose won't or the pathetic owner won't? Pathetic owner, good grief.
