July 7, 201610 yr Ain't you the same Mikel hater I told to always ignore my post or are an animal? By the way explain how that was idiotic. For someone who posts daft stuff, you have got good memory to identify me among the majority of the posters here who fairly rate mikel as garbage. I'll give you that. July 7, 201610 yr If Pogba goes to United and Juventus snatch Kante i will be really gutted. Our rivals would have gotten a hell of a lot stronger and we would have a missed out on someone who we really need right now.
July 7, 201610 yr Is there any talk of Juve going for Kante? I have not seen anything to imply that. Edit: Just saw it. I doubt Kante would go to a league where at best he will make half of what Chelsea will pay him. Edited July 7, 201610 yr by Orpington_Blue
July 8, 201610 yr Kante seems like to enjoy defending so he's the type of DM we don't have.. His buyout clause is still considered decent so this 1 should be no brainer.. let mu have pogba for the quoted price (ridiculous) and we sell matic to juve and then get kante..
July 9, 201610 yr Won't he be more expensive if France win the Euro? No because he has a release clause

July 12, 201610 yr Real Madrid are after him as well. Need to be quick. Edited July 12, 201610 yr by GoshaRubchinskiy
July 12, 201610 yr 35 million, right? Unlikely we'll have to go that high, he doesn't want to move to China, i'd hope we could get him for 25 million at the most, which would be a steal
July 12, 201610 yr Good news this. He didn't play the last couple of games for France so hopefully will be up for another season. I am a bit worried about freshness for hazard, fabregas. Also good news that Costa hungry.
July 12, 201610 yr Unlikely we'll have to go that high, he doesn't want to move to China, i'd hope we could get him for 25 million at the most, which would be a steal In which case, we do not have to sell him. We only have to accept the highest bid, that currently stands at £35m and could rise quite easily. Matt Law will be getting his info your end not ours and won't have any idea what we'll accept. We do not want to lose him and the owners will fight all the way to keep him, these are not Southampton type owners, happy to cash in on assets. It's very much wishful thinking on the part of Chelsea that they believe we'll bend over for you because the player might want to go. That brings me onto another point, I have strong suspicions that this is very much his agent angling for a move. Everything we know about the lad from his time here and his time elsewhere is that he's a very shy and quiet sort. Keeps his head down, wouldn't say boo to a goose. He drives around in a Mini, wasn't interested in forcing a move from his last club unless they agreed a fee. Just a really sound, nice bloke... not your typical footballer chasing the cash or causing problems to get a move etc. He was also an Arsenal fan as a kid. Him "picking" Chelsea just seems a bit of an odd one, at this moment in time. No affiliation with you guys and no champions league this year with plenty of other interest around. Stinks a bit of agent manipulation to me at the moment. We had the same with Vardy, agent touting him around to all and sundry. Agent strikes up a deal after someone bites, when it's in the players hands... he decides he doesn't want to move. So I would take everything with a pinch of salt at the minute, even if Matt knows his stuff and it looks like it's pointing in one direction. As for the Chinese club bidding for him, strong suspicions there also that we might be using them to drive up the price. Sven is there and despite his sacking, he's still in contact with the owners and still very good friends. Don't be shocked that should you match them the price doesn't jump up again. If he does end up with you, I'd wish him all the best. Very disappointed he wouldn't give us one more year, but the lad is dynamite.

Also good news that Costa hungry. Well, Hazard barely turned up last season and it took half a season for Fabregas to get going so they should both be fine. To be honest, there isn't a single player in our team that can complain about burnout after last season, apart from Willian maybe.
July 12, 201610 yr Post as last has me wondering if people have ever played footie and ran across a pitch before. I played as a central defender and I know the thigh pains I got for days!.

I think if Leicester are resigned to losing him, they will negotiate with his preferred destination. Personally I'd be happy for us to spend £35m for him, although I'd be gutted to see this Leicester team lose one of its stars going into the champions league.

Lets put it this way, unless Chelsea, or Real or anyone else are the biggest bid or at least very close to the biggest bid we've received, then the club will not let him go cheap. Player power has swung the other way a bit in recent years. Everton have shown with Stones and West Brom with Berahino, there is enough money coming into the game from elsewhere, not to be held to ransom by players. (As I said, I don't believe he's that sort at all anyway). In the current market we're talking about a £40-45+m player. We're not going to let him go to Chelsea for say £25m, if we've had a bid of £35m and his real value could potentially be almost double your bid. If he doesn't fancy going to who makes the largest offer (or very close), then he'll have to resign himself to staying at Leicester on 100k a week and suffer the awfulness of champions league football for a season. Would be nice if he showed a bit of loyalty, fair enough if we'd done a Saints and finished 6th. But winning the league, offering a very decent contract and being able to offer champions league football is something a bit different.

Maybe we will offer a player the shanghai to persuade them to pull there offer, we've certainly got plenty who need to be shown the door! If he does go, I don't think it will be for a ridiculous amount, maybe around £30m, maybe lower. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

That is what Telegraph have been reporting all the way at least. So that pretty much forces your hand.

Shanghai and Sven are no doubt inline to receive a little bonus already for them being complicit* in our little game. Ours owners have a lot of friends at clubs around Asia *Allegedly of course.
July 12, 201610 yr Could all be his agent trying to get the foxes to up his contract offer to, and his own personal fee.

We only have to accept the highest bid, if you're under the highest bid then you might as well not exist. Currently, we're led to believe the clubs friend Sven has bid £35m. All hearsay and rumour, but it's what the report says. Which does back up reports our end.

I assume Leicester must have accepted that offer from China then but Kante declined. But then i wonder if that offer is "of the table" so to speak since its not an alternative for the player anyways and us and lets say Real Madrid can both bid 21 million and you have to accept.
