One thing to bear in mind is that with RVP etc Arsenal had to sell, they needed the money. That's not the case any more. But at the same time Sanchez strikes me as the type that would sulk if he was held against his will, and so if he really does want out I think they'd look to sell. From what I can tell there is enough interest from abroad for them to have to sell to us.

Who knows whats going on behind the scenes. But if Sanchez wants to stay in London but wont sign a new contract Arsenal really have their hands tied, if he doesnt want to live in Paris, they cant sell him to PSG. Either he comes to us this summer for 50M, or he stays until the end of his contract, then comes to us on a free. 

He only has a year left, and isn't signing a new contract.  If he continues to not sign, then i'd guess that he is leaving this summer as Arsenal will want to cash in.  Whether or not that's to us remains to be seen

I don't think Alexis will outright admit to leaving before the end of the season, last thing he wants is to have arsenal fans booing him while he plays. Also I think the Arsenal board will do everything they can to stop him coming here. They are already under heavy criticism from fans and will try their hardest so he goes to Germany or Italy. 

 

The byproduct of this is that great players are leaving the prem because clubs hate selling their players to rivals. Compare that to Italy Germany and Spain , where the the top teams can mow up all the talent.

Any solid bids from other top clubs would hinder our chances of getting him greatly, Arsenal would sell to every other team before us.

I'm sure the player would be open to a move back to Spain too.

Unless Sanchez wants to stay in London, like he's already said.

I can see us getting him, 50m and he's ours.

If Sanchez doesn't sign a new contract then the ball is in Arsenal's court when he only has a year left. Chelsea can outbid any other European club and this will make the owners think who run the club as a business specially if they don't get there beloved top 4.

They either sell or let him run his contract out.

Well, I guess it seems consensus here that people are willing to go up to 50 million.  Those are levels that make me a little leery, but I guess it's arbitrary to draw the line at 30 or 35.  And it will probably cost us more than that to convince Arsenal to sell to us instead of overseas clubs.  He does bring with him the flexibility to play him up front if needed too in case of injuries/tactics/stroppy strikers.  I think we need another CM though so I wouldn't want to come at that expense.

Will keep on reiterating but spending £50-60m would be an excellent deal and we should have no problem spending that amount if it comes down to it. The guy is top quality and is first in stats in terms of goals and assists combined and is a guaranteed 20 goal a season man in all comps. If we prize him here and keep Hazard. Just WOW!

They can't have too many big players in the same positions, big players don't like warming the bench, if it is the case that he has to compete with bale and Ronaldo for a spot, great for us, haz is our star man, first name on the sheet and is as likely to win trophies under conte as anyone else, why would he give that up to compete for a spot. 

Happy to see Matt Law and Sam Wallace also reporting we want Sanchez this summer.

We should have every opportunity to get it done i think.

I don't think we need a big center forward, if that comes at a cost of mobility in our attack and closing down defenders when needed. I would be happy with Hazard-Sanchez-Pedro to be honest, but I wouldn't mind having someone like Belotti or Mbappe to give us 5 good options in attack.

Would love this to happen. It would be a signing of great intent that we're still going to strengthen despite walking the league. Especially given the disappointing transfer window after the last time we won it.

Plus to compete in the Champions League we need signings like this.

Hey guys, new around here but not new to Chelsea needless to say my countryman Alexis Sánchez, whom I've been following ever since he left Cobreloa. Would be absolutely thrilling to see him play under Conte and along football monsters Hazard, Costa, Willian, Fabregas, Courtois, etc.

If he's signed during the summer window, where exactly do you see him playing? Would he be a regular starter or he would be benched?

Where he played would probably depend on whether we kept Costa. If we do, then he'd probably play on the right of a front three with Costa and Hazard. If Costa went, he might play up top depending on whether we signed another striker.

He seems to be behind Pedro in the pecking order already and is on the bench more often than not. Sanchez would take Pedro's spot probably.

Sanchez would be my number one choice for that RW slot. The fact he also can lead the line in an absolute bonus for us. Playing with one up top has always meant that we have struggled to find a decent backup who we can keep in form. Not since Anelka have we had someone who can do that job and he is a cut above Anelka IMO. Cannot see him costing >£40mil though. Especially if Arsenal dont get 4th. will be awesome to see a front line of Hazard, Sanchez and Diego (Morata/Lukaku?) next year.

Sanchez and Lukaku if Costa leaves. That gives us 2 quality strikers, with very different skill sets, so differrent ways to play.

Obviously Batshayaui to leave as well.

William not offering enough in this system he could be gone soon especially if we get a top attaching option in the right, I've been a long time willian fan but at present in this system I'd keep Pedro over him he has been so impressive this season, last term he must have thought what the f**k has he done to himself 10th and not getting a game, what a turnaround for him this season
