Tiémoué Bakayoko

Featured Replies

I haven't seem much of him but I hope he's more Essien style box to box then Ramires , basically I hope he has a touch and can pass the balla bit.. still think it's a matter of games for our boys but almost given up on us ever producing from the youth again

So essentially we'd have two midfield anchors who mostly break game instead of creating it. Guess the balance isn't a thing there.

Bakayoko is more than just a destroyer

Part of the reason why I'm not wholly convinced about him. That being said, if Fabregas is added to that midfield, then it'd be a totally different ball game as that midfield 3 would have pace, power and creativity.

So wait, matic is creative? He is there exactly to break up play and stop the passing channels opening up.

From what I have seen bakayoko makes driving runs forward and at 22 I'm sure he can add to his game, in a big game we need players that break up play, that's why a creative option like fab is nice for when we have to break teams down worked good for us last season.

I'm against losing fab but as was the case with Diego I think maybe conte doesn't fancy him in the dressing room because football wise at his age he may  be more happy playing a secondary role coming on like last season and for me it's a great option.

Right so who is playing him at Man U? The Chelsea manager who never plays youth...I'm sorry when you say Chelsea won't play youth do you mean Roman, the board, the fans, Stamford the lion? As far as I know the manager selects the team and no one else, even if it's encourage by the board to play youth no one picks the team and the minutes given except the manager, it's down to the coach and the 2 time Chelsea coach who doesn't play youth starts rashford so please tell me is it conte that doesn't  play youth? The only argument you could have is chelsea have more pressure on the manager that he will lose his job easily so the managers won't risk playing youth but again it's down to the manager, mou doesn't play rashford under pressure to squeeze in youth he plays him in big games because he is a good option, that's a managerial choice so again "Chelsea wouldn't play him" is a fallacy it's down to the manager.

Great post.

And we had Matic and Kante last season but did we have trouble vs lesser sides? We only failed to win 3 out of 26 against team's outside the top 6 and two of them we dominated and wasted chances galore.

I wasn't criticizing. I had this fixed idea we need one and one in midfield. If Conte thinks we don't I have no qualms with it.

I just think the trend in football is everyone can create. Bakayoko's numbers aren't showing that.

I have a dream of playing 3-5-2/3-5-1-1 that sees hazard playing along the striker or behind, that'll look like this:

tibo
dave-luiz-christensen/cahill

moses-kante-bakayoko-cesc-sandro

hazard

lukaku

Baka could be a great signing, waiting for it.

Happy Days.

Hazard shooting, esp. from distance just sucks. I don`t see him as good second striker, for that you need someone with great shooting, and Hazard is simply not.

No way Hazard play as a second striker.

Actually, you could argue Hazard is suitable for that Trequartista role. The problem is can Lukaku do it up top alone if we play that system? That I'm not wholly convinced

9, 8, 7, 6, 5 all from outside the box. Not sure how you can say someone that has been our second top goal scorer pretty much every season he's been here from the wing has bad shooting lol. Maybe you could say he doesn't shoot enough but it definitely doesn't 'suck'.

numbers.... the thing about number's is they are whores!! they will do what ever you want them to and tell you what you want to hear!!

Just to prove the point, Luka Modric, long, one of my favorite players, Goals scored last season, 2, assists... 3! Not exactly showing a creative player

Verrati, a player i also very much like scores slightly better with 7 assists.. still not ground breaking.

Point is assist stats are massively misleading, some one lays of a two yard pass 30 yards out, player goes on to smash it in the top corner, that is considered an assist... cesc puts through a great lofted out side of the foot pass that comes of a defender and falls in to the pass of costa who puts it in to the back of the net... No assist.

I'm not making a case for Baka, I haven't seen him player more then 2 games. I don't know what he will offer from a creative stand point, but creativity is not just meshured in assists.

I've been negatative on Baka based on what I think is his lack of pace. And I watched Monaco maybe half a dozen times last season.

However now he's joining I think he'll be fantastic.

This vid was obviously made before that Arsenal game this season, thats his best for me.

Totally agree with you here. Nothing wrong with Hazards shooting, just that he could shoot a bit more often.

Most important thing for me is that we have options, with the midfield we will have we will be able to play 3-5-2 perhaps against teams that have a tough midfield (spuds), 3-4-3 with Kanté and Bakayoko, perhaps against teams that will attack us and we need to counter (man city), and 3-4-3 with cesc and Kanté/baka, perhaps against teams that will park the bus. Plus this flexibility off the bench is useful.

Agreed, numbers in the middle is definitely needed when we come up against the teams such as Spuds, City, Liverpool. Hazard and whichever striker we sign should have enough between them to be able to hit a team on the counter attack.

Excellent. Kante - Bakayoko will be a nasty midfield to face.

No rest for the opposition there thats for sure.
