Commercially for Nike it makes sense the Nike deal was centre of attention going up to the 1st so they didn't need any big announcements for the extra marketing, only once it dies down do they need to announce something.

Either that or we are waiting for Matic to leave / it hasn't been completed.

It was always going to take a long time I think. It was a combo of fake news, fan's assumptions and Nike announcement that culminated in the rumour that the signings will be unveiled July 1st.

Does seem to be taking a while to get this one done. Not that I particularly want him, but would be nice if the club could just get their deals done sooner rather than later. This one has been going on so long now I was expecting it to be announced pretty much as soon as the window opened.

    I agree with what you've said about the Nike kit unveiling, but there's no way we would wait until the Nike hype dies down.

    We're more important than Nike ffs they don't get to say what we got to do here and there.

    Agreed but it's the only reason I can think of for delaying a deal completed months ago. Now the Nike deal is in gear.

    I imagine given bakayoko would still likely be on holiday delaying the deal won't affect the club in any way so it may be a reason bit pointless though.

    Whether or not the Bakayoko deaal has been completed or not is a different matter but I was just answering the question.

    He is in a gym in France right now wearing a Lyon shirt, there are rumours that the hold up is because Chelsea are unsure about his knee problem from last season, they want to make sure its not going to be a future problem for him before they finalise the deal.
