f**king over the moon with that. Not the greatest performance by a country mile but to beat a quality team while not playing well is key to winning a title.

Absolutely elated with that, can go to work happy tomorrow!

I actually can't think of us playing that poorly and winning against a top side. Everyone was below par bar Cahill, azpi, and Hazard.

2 away games up next, 4 points and I think that will all but seal it tbh. Spurs have Leicester, United, and arsenal to play, I can't see them winning all those games.

That proved that we must must must sign a RWB and another striker in the summer, we defended well but aside from hazard we had no teeth in the final third, and i'm not comfortable with pedro in that wingback position when moses isn't fit. Great result though, against a strong attacking side. City will be dangerous next year if they sort out their defence. Sane looks a real player lately as well.

Phew ... more than a few squeaks behind the sofa during that one ... :-)

Shame Swansea couldn't hold on, but wasn't expecting anything out of that, so no harm done.

Two horse race now, and we all know how those turn out for Tottenham ...

Good win , nervy to watch but in reality they didn't really cause us many problems second half bar the Stones chance at the end. Cahill MOTM for me, always seemed to be the right position when the ball came in. Six wins seals it but Spurs will drop points somewhere... I hope.

Obviously delighted, hard fought and well deserved.

I'm maybe in the minority but I thought everyone had a great game. Cahill and Alonso were especially excellent.

A point of discussion - the commentators (ridiculously biased, but hey) slaughtered Luiz in the first half for stepping out and pressing when the ball got behind Kante and Cesc. To me that's precisely the role he's playing with Cahill and Azpi covering, but they were suggesting in a 3 man line it should only be the outside backs stepping up... only got highlighted when Luiz missed the tackle but I don't see that as a wrong decision? He's stepping with Aguero, the outside CBs cover the runners? Thoughts?

any idea why Zouma was subbed ? I liked our formation and play in the first half. The introduction of Matic, removal of Zouma and the shifting of Fabergas's position in the second half made our formation weaker based on what i observed.

CITEH 14 points behind us. It's Spurs or Chelsea for the title. We need to play better than we did tonight. Costa yet again goes missing. We are playing with 10 men. This title isn't ours yet but I pray we do eventually get it.

I thought Costa did better as far holding the ball and losing it goes. I felt like Matic was ore unconvincing and was worried everytime he was a step behind or not maintaining possession.

I played 5 a side before the match, but watching this game was much more exhausting. I'm shattered, happy as f**k, but shattered.

I was surprised by that analysis too... If any of the three have to step up and press, it would have to be the central one in the interests of simple symmetry and organization.

Also felt that we played very well without being outstanding. Like Jose would say, we controlled the game completely.

I felt the commentators praised us quite a bit.

The decision to step out of a set defensive position and commit involves increased risk. Therefore, it either has to be a rational, logical decision where the odds are greatly in your favour of succeding, or you have to do it where you are in a situation where there is no other logical option than to gamble and commit. None of these applied to the situations Luiz gambled on in the first half. It was poor decision making, simple as.

Second half he was much better, thankfully. Cahill was awesome defensively all night long.

That was pure torture. Hoping we would hang on with one eye on the clock waiting for 75mins hoping that Swansea would hang on as they started 15 mins before us. When Spurs got those 2 late goals I was even more nervous but thought this title is in our hands no matter what Spurs do. It certainly wasn't pretty tonight but it was all about getting the 3 points. Spurs will certainly drop points in the last 8 games but we've got to focus on our own matches. Every game is going to be nervy until we are mathematically there. This result was a major plus after the massive disappointment against Palace.
