If only we had a little bit of their luck during all of those near misses. We would probably have 3 or 4 Champions League titles to our name by now if we had their luck.

Luck and the ref on your side every game.

No doubt....I dont believe I have witnessed such luck in the CL before......

Hopefully the manager has learned his lesson and will stick with their usual formation, namely playing 4 at the back instead of 3. What he was thinking last week is beyond me.

Klopp will probably be expecting that,

Consistently helped.....it changes everything. Didnt Cruiff tell Fergie in the 90s that in order to win the CL, you need to do something under the table?

Roma only need to win 3-0 and they've done it. That's all you need to do Roma ffs. Haha.

If they defend like they did at Anfield last week they might score 3 but they could easily concede 15.

I keep expecting Real Madrid to get a hammering like Brazil did against Germany, but it never happens. Real Madrid always give you a chance (or 10) and usually people would say "better teams will punish them", but it never seems to actually happen.

Some older fans (I'm 25) told me that it pretty much sums up every title win in the UCL of RM after the 50's-60's ... Looked beatable, but always come on top ! RM may win the three peat! Unless Roma shock the world tommorrow and in Kiev ;) !

You will see that happen in the final. Liverpool will beat them comfortably. Get used to hearing about them winning it 6 times. It is inevitable.

No, just no... Stop it! I hope Real tear them a new one

Cant wait to see Roma defend with a high line. Kolarov vs salah in a high line. WTF was the manager even thinking? Sometimes the managers get away with way too much.

There is to be a debate in the U.K. Parliament about safe-standing in Premier League and Championship teams' grounds. I can't see the Government introducing legislation to allow for safe-standing not because it is necessarily against the change but because of everything else which is going on in the country. I wonder how many members of the Government or how many MPs have been to a football game or indeed any sporting event.

I stopped buying them because they were generally just full of the articles already available for free on the website.

As you say, you can get all the information from the club website and from this forum. I receive the magazine every month. I don't think I've ever read one from cover to cover.

Have to say I'm a worried man...Real Madrid are so bang average...I make Liverpool favourites if they reach the final as expected.

i think that's a bit harsh on real madrid. even though they've looked average, let's not forget who they have beat. psg, juventus, and now bayern munich. compare that to liverpool who have had a pretty simple ride. do you think liverpool would have beat who real madrid beat? take away salah and liverpool are a bang average side and can be got at. real madrid still have individual quality who have more experience and football ability than most of liverpool's team.

Another big namer who walks into a job unqualified, I think he's only had a few months of youth coaching experience.

The worst part is hearing his name all over the media again. It's only been a couple of years since they shut up about saint Stevie G.

I'm not a fan of him by any means but fair play to him for putting his reputation on the line and taking the managers position. Far too many top players now take the easy route after finishing playing with TV punditry. Our league needs top ex players to succeed in management for our game on the whole to evolve.Top British managers are in short supply, hopefully both JT and Lamps follow suit into the coaching side of the game, both having gained knowledge from the numerous top managers they have played under.

They may be refrained because of the board's pressure/Roman's pressure and the media treatment too ...

Quite possibly, I was though thinking they cut their teeth elsewhere and if they show an aptitude for the job, the Chelsea managers seat would be there for them in the future. Personally I think one of the problems within the game now is that top players have made vast amounts of money playing with the knock-on effect that they don't actually need a job and in effect could retire at 35.Unlike players from older generations who played before the vast amounts of wealth came into the game. When an easy number like punditry is dangled in front of them, why would they choose a job that involves long hours and is very stressful. They can only spend so much money in a lifetime. We do though need retired players to stay within the game as a whole.
