On the bright side we're not losing and surely can't play as bad second half! Shame about Morata, not sure Cesc should ever start these kind of games tbh, need pace to be in a front 3 if you're playing counter.

We need more pace in the team to help our attack and push back their wingbacks. Replace Alonso and Fabregas with Zappacosta/Moses and Batshuayi.

Dreadful team selection and poor tactics. Pep has out thought Conte but he only has himself to blame. I looked at that side before kick off and I wasn't impressed. We look shambolic and Citeh are taking us to the cleaners. Morata goes off injured and Conte brings on Willian. LOL, Conte's head must be elsewhere. Fabregas has done Sweet FA a and Conte's love affair with Cesc needs to end. Cahill as wing back and Tibo taking stupid chances add up to a very poor showing. Why isn't Bats on the field? We now have no striker. It's just wave after wave of Citeh attacks. Conte needs to change things around and fast A massive cock up by Conte

I think Morata isn't fit enough to play 2 games in such a short space of time. Hopefully the hamstring hasn't been damaged too much and he came off as a precaution.

This City defence can be opened up. Look at that midfielder. They have all offensive players and a half baked DM out there. Should be dominating them in the middle of the pitch but Could ntebis basically conceding the whole midfield to them.

It certainly doesn't help that once we regain possession, we give it up almost immediately and without much pressure.

I'm probably being paranoid here but I wish we'd invest in another couple of world class players so we can go toe to toe with city etc. 

 

You can see in Hazards body language he's not happy at all and understandably so IMO. It's the complete contrast to midweek where we went at Atleti, he seemed to be loving every minute of it.

 

As i say, maybe I'm being paranoid cause the thought of losing him is my worst nightmare but I can't help but feel if we address big games like this, he'll be off to a team that attacks in them.

Our biggest nightmare has come through: Morata gets insured. We simply don't have a replacement

Bit of a reality check for us after the giddy heights of Madrid.

City have played exceptionally well and we have not been in the game. As coco said though 0-0 gives us some comfort to try a different way second half. I think Batshuayi will need to come on at some stage second half. Possibly for Fabregas. We can't play with noone in the box.

It would help if there were some options and something for City to be worried about. They can afford to easily squeeze play. Willian for Morata was a poor sub imho. Batshuyi would have been better. At least Pedro who makes those runs you need on the counter. 

Willian and Hazard are too similar. 

Think bats should have come on for morata and Pedro for fab. Pedro is more suited to run at them. Albeit willian does have the quality to press them as well

I'm actually a 100% happy with the set-up but disappointed with the way the game has gone. The right way to play but we are so sloppy, no efficiency whatsoever, perhaps the short break? Also, Morata injury is a right f**king bugger.

I agree, Hazard is kind of wasted when we play like this. Midweek showed how classy he can be with players that can pass and hold the ball. Willian doesn't help in this regard.
