December 2, 20178 yr Extremely comfortable win after a dodgy start. Good team performance with Hazard outstanding and Christensen again very impressive. Edited December 2, 20178 yr by Nibs

Nothing spectacular, just do enough to get the win. I would give the team more credit, we've left our small bad patch behind us and we are outplaying teams easily at the moment. The other teams aren't getting a sniff at goal. I just watched the extended highlights that seemed to be Newcastle's only chance of the game and even their goal was fortunate and a dead giveaway. Even in the Liverpool game, we played much better than we've ever played at Anfield in quite some time.
December 2, 20178 yr Special mention for Moses after his rusty midweek introduction - great today. Drinkwater is a hard working midfielder and this was his best so far in the Chelsea jersey.
December 2, 20178 yr Just finished watching the match now after getting home from work. Comfortable win after a shaky start and didn't look that great the last 10 mins but the game was already won by that point. Hazard ran the show today, he's the best player in the Prem when he's in this mood, so glad he' back to his best, please stay injury free. Drinkwater has also impressed since getting into the team and him and Kante have a great partnership and compliment each other well. On to the next one. COME ON CHELSEA1!!!!!!!!!!
December 2, 20178 yr Good win good performance very happy. Hopfully we can keep quietly picking up the points and put pressure on that top 2. UTC.
December 2, 20178 yr Going to say this now, Drinkwater seems like a better signing than Bakayoko, at least in the short term. Intelligent, Assertive and Prem proven. Baka will be better in time. Has all the attributes to become a beast. Takes time. He is is a young boy. Nothing away from DD who is a tad limited. Great to have him in full strenght as well.

December 2, 20178 yr Watched the full game at last, it's fair to say Drinkwater at the moment is levels about Bakayoko, I hope he's favoured from now on.

Shame we are up against a freak team else i'd be sure we were winning the title.

December 2, 20178 yr The back 3 were good. Christensen looking very assured in the Centre and Rudigier is athletic. We can build on them for years. Danny was so,id without setting the world on fire. Moses adds a lot going forward. He is and plays like a real attacker, however crossing and shooting is a limitation for him. Kante I would rest next game, and Morata.
December 2, 20178 yr Enjoyed Drinkwater's performance today, felt much more comfortable with him in the middle. Looked a very similar game to when I saw Newcastle play Man U, they scored probably too early and sat back allowing us to play, they couldn't live with our attacking options. Nice comfortable game, on to madrid! COYB!!!

I'd like to think so but it's not looking likely, they will have to slide to top 6 challenging form now for that to happen. But i think we are on course for mid to late 80's points wise, which if we achieve then we have had an excellent campaign regardless of were we finish and what cups we win.

Citi tend to to be crowded on the flanks where the ball is, they put number of players to snatch the ball back. Any team that switch the flanks quickly from one side to another side quickly where City leaves lot of space to exploit would be able to punish them on counter. I think spurs can do it and hope spurs beat them next week. Once a team find the way to counter city I think they will be found out. Edited December 2, 20178 yr by fun2sh

December 3, 20178 yr I saw that cross. Still in general I prefer Alonso’s crossing and also Azpulecata’s crossing from a more central deeper position is also excellent and has resulted in at least three headed goals from Morata. What I do like about Moses is the way he runs at defenders and the way he can cut inside as well as out. He actually has great technique.

December 3, 20178 yr Seems like a routine win. How did our support respond to Chelsea's least favourite son? I hope they gave him the proper 'welcome'.
December 3, 20178 yr Under normal circumstances Eden would have won MOM with his superb performance. But step up N'Golo and take a bow ,,a masterclass in defensive midfield display. I have watched loads of football over the past 55 years (too much) and in that time cannot recall a better performance in a Chelsea shirt.
December 3, 20178 yr Agreed, there was a moment when he threw himself into a 50/50 slide challenge and managed to win a throw-in from it. Definitely doesn’t seem as afraid to get stuck in as Baka, probably because he’s used to the midfield battles in the Prem.Baka knows he is injury prone so he won't take the risk.
December 3, 20178 yr A comfortable win at the Bridge yesterday after a dodgy start. Could have scored more goals but for some good goal-keeping and blocks by the Newcastle defence. Hazard was superb as was Christensen. After the game I was chatting to one of the guys I go to the games with and we both felt that Christensen could be the team captain in a few years time. Have to say I was also impressed with Drinkwater. Have to say that when we signed him I wasn't sure how he would fit in but he played well yesterday. My ST is in the MHU and something I noticed at the game on Wednesday and again yesterday were the supporters clubs banners fixed to the wall of the hotel and flats above the Shed Upper. They are copies of the supporters clubs which are on the West and East Stands. So great to see banners from supporters clubs around the world. Quite a few from the USA and both sides of the Irish border. A great cheer when the FSW made a hash of kicking the ball.
