Loving the comedy banter.  Wit at it's finest, delivered with panache and insouciance. By masters of their craft.  All those elements are missing from you two.

You grumpy old sod! I was amused :laugh2:

And you, too.  You are VERY easily amused @Valerie, just look at your teenage flirting with Munkey.

I'm at work, anything amuses me. And Munkey and I are close, very close, and we plan to continue our teenage flirting until we are OAPs

If we could stop bashing Kev, and get back to Ross:  I don't see what he offers, really.  A solid squad player, who we didn't pay over the odds for.  Worth a shot, but I see nothing from him that suggests he should be blocking the path of RLC getting game time.

I'd like to see him and Drinkwater sold in the summer.  I think we'll obviously take a bath on Danny, but may be able to recoup some of that with Barkley's sale.  The only issue is I don't think Danny will want sold.  he's our modern day Winston Bogarde.

It's an interesting one @mad_mac. With Ruben and Andreas back and Callum, Ampadu, Mount and Reece James coming through, we potentially don't have as much of a need for them as homegrown players (which let's not kid ourselves influenced our decision to buy them).

I think Ross has been tidy (as has Kovacic) but almost seems to be playing within himself. Fearful of making a mistake. Not taking the game by the scruff as he often did under Martinez at Everton. If anything Kante seems to be the player who takes the impetus and drives us on.

I'm not sure what to do about him, but we need goals from that position and neither he nor Kovacic are providing them at the minute.

Agreed mate, its so interesting, and frustrating, watching Barkley play the way he is.  I want a bit of that mad scouse about him out on the field.  I'm not sure if he's being instructed not to maraud forward, which would be strange, or if he's still got his injury lingering in the back of his mind and therefore is playing it safe.  I remember our own Damien Duff, he was never the same after his injury.

That’s a bit harsh. He didn’t make Chelsea spend the money on him, Chelsea didn’t have to agree to his wage demands and they also didn’t have to sign him knowing he was injured.

I’m sure the bloke wants to play for Chelsea he just doesn’t fit our current managers plans.

Sure thing, it was a little bit of a joke.  I'm sure he does want to play for us, but I also think he realizes that he can sit back and claim large pay without ever kicking a ball for us, like WB did

What we wouldn't give for 2003-05 Duff. He, Joe and Robben are the best collective of wide men I reckon we've ever had.

I hope Ross can get back to his best but at 15m we'd certainly make a profit on his sale.

After today, I Think Ross has sealed his place on the bench for the foreseeable future.

I think the same could be said for the whole team today, but you're right Barkley is a squad player
