Great pass for England's 4th. CHO will no doubt make the headlines but I have barkley as man of the match.

maybe Southgate is playing him to his strengths better than Sarri is.

He's had more touches in the Penalty area in this game than he's had in a month for Chelsea.

I swear our team is allergic to the goal mouth. Rarely do you see more than one layer in the area awaiting a cross

Probably because England play with more speed and purpose in their attacks. We just piss about with the ball and rarely get anybody in the box. By the time we try a killer ball, the opposition has everybody back defending.

Just look at his both his goals last night.

5 England players within the penalty area when Barkely scores... Chelsea don't do that.

You want to get the best out of a player like Barkley you've got to show that level of commitment to attacking. He's a good finisher but he's not going to curl one into the top bin from 20 plus yards out each week and he's not going to beat 4/5 defenders in the penalty area either.

Create some space, occupy defenders, then you'll see Ross doing what he did last night.

Great performance from England and Barkley in particular, but we were playing Montenegro. They're a level below our Europa League opponents in my opinion. We've been excellent in the Europa League this season but quite a few on here discredit our performances due to the weak opposition.

Not really sure what this reply has to do with what I posted?

True, the opposition was weak, but that is a few very good peformances in a row from Barkley for England now. They must be doing something better with him than we have been for the last few months.

Could be purely a case of confidence. Lets not forget that he was playing very well for us in October/November. Could also be that he is playing in a slightly different position/system with England and he is more comfortable there. I have been very impressed with the way England play under Southgate, although lets not underestimate Steve Holland's role there. In my opinion he played a fundamental role in Conte's success at Chelsea too.

Barkley played a couple of great games for England, and he generally plays pretty well for he is when given time and space on the ball.

I think it is important to take the opposition into account, when comparing to Chelsea. Yes we might struggle to create chances against teams in the premier league, but Czech and Montenegro are much closer in quality to teams in the Europa league and the championship, which we have generally blown away with our second string teams.

Barkley looking good against this level of opposition is nothing new.

He had a decent game against Everton though, and I thought he was unlucky to be brought off.

Maybe if theres anything to take from the England game, it was that Barkley had 4 other attackers ahead of him, rather how we play with 3. If there is a way of doing that for Chelsea, maybe Barkley would get more space. Not sure how it could happen with sarri though, unless Barkley played in a midfield 2, in a 4231, or if he played kante's position in a 433.

Maybe we should hire Southgate, he seems to know how to get the best out of these players.

Southgate is doing well yet Sterling was outstanding last night and both him and Kane would cost a fortune to bring to SB and they might actually refuse due to club loyalties.

So lets not kid ourselves England are playing well yet they have more world class talent than Chelsea right now. Not always the case in the past.

I mean not questioning Kane but outside of him I wouldn't say England have any other world class players, Sterling is a tremendous talent but rarely wins games by himself. He's a very good player but world class? No I don't think so.

Look at the rest of that England squad and there's a lot of players in there from mid-table sides or players who aren't nailed on starters for their clubs... Not exactly stock full of brilliant talents, I think Southgate for the most part gets that side performing greater than the sum of their parts.

Would absolutely take Southgate over Sarri, its plain to see how poor Sarri is making us look, but then again as an Englishman wouldn't want Southgate to leave England think he is doing a fantastic job.

I think Sterling has been exceptional both England matches and think he is world class, I also think Sancho is on the verge of being world class. Think we have Hazard and Kante.

Sarri said earlier in the season that international sides were inferior to club sides I think currently England would beat us, with us playing Hazard playing for CHO and say RLC for Barkley.

I think Steve Holland is the real gem in that England set up. Southgate is brave with his decisions, he seems like a very good man manager, but I dont think he would be getting anywhere near the same success without Holland next to him.

Couldnt agree more. Would love Southgate, but im as much as an England fan as i am a Chelsea fan and would hate Chelsea to be the team that nabs the England manager and condemns England to more disappointing world/euro cups.

I'd be more than comfortable doing that ..... ::MooNeY::

Sterling is probably the most in form winger on the planet at the moment and would take him over Kane if i had to choose. Definitely is world class these last two seasons.

Nonsense to say sterling isn't world class. He'd get in any team in Europe on his form this season.
