He wouldn't even make the Wolves team, never mind the champions team. Conte's needs a break. Needs to reenergise his mind, body and soul.
February 6, 20188 yr I am trying to look beyond this awful situation and I hope there is some silver lining. In his recent interview, Conte talked about the need for patience and the club's evolving philosophy of promoting academy players and becoming a talent producing/money-making sporting machine. If I am not mistaken, we have over 30 players on loan. Some youth academy players seem to have great potential. Truth be told, if the club announced that we are going to focus on building the squad from within, from young talented players, and rely increasingly less on buying "stopgaps" and "have beens", I would be happy to accept a few seasons of struggle. But nothing is clearly communicated, so I can only guess what the hell is going on behind those closed doors, and I think the club should be more open about its affairs and regard fans as stakeholders, not just some paying spectators.

Do you honestly believe players like Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Barkley are his choice? ?? he has been handed a sow's ear by the board and told to make them a silk purse out of it! It makes me so bloody angry. Man City and others look at the situation in their house and decide it needs updating, so they pop into Harrods or Fortnum & Masons to do their shopping, what do we do? - we have a look in Homebase or Argos during the January sales!!! He earmarked 5 signings he wanted in the summer, including, Bellotti, Danio and Alex Sandro and what do we get?.... players that can't get a starting place in their own club because they're cheaper by a couple of million quid. Don't believe for one minute that he has that much control over who leaves and who comes in, that's all decided upstairs and then he's told about it, and that includes players going out on loan, it's been like that for a long time now, (I happen to know that as a fact from a former board member of about 8 years ago) Conte has consistently criticised the clubs transfer policy, claiming we don't have enough quality in depth for a long season in which we are expected to be challenging for honors, well now he's been proved right. He can only play the players he has at his disposal, and at the moment he has very little to choose from. So if you want to be pissed off at someone, get pissed off at the board and not the manager I'm pissed at both the board and Conte. I agree with you that the board have let him down and spent large amounts of money on some very average mid table club players, but i don't think the squad is so useless that they should be getting beaten comfortably by the likes of Bournemouth and Watford. You can accept or even expect poor performances like that once or twice a season, but we have seen it far more than that, especially in the last month. Conte could change things to get something better out of what he has, but for some reason he just won't. I refuse to believe that this squad must stick to 3 at the back and only 2 / 3 attacking players per game, that is just nonsense. We should be having far more confidence in our attack and defense against most teams in the league. If Conte is going to send 8 defensive players out and play defensive tactics and formations in every game, then it's no wonder why we can't create any chances. All we do is get closed down high up the pitch and lose the ball, which puts consistent strain on the defense. I haven't seen one game this season where this hasn't happened. Even in the games we have dominated, there are still periods in those games where the defense is put under a lot of pressure. It comes from the tactics. Playing it out of the back, into isolated midfielders / wing backs just ends up with us losing possession. We hardly ever manage to get the ball to the 2 or 3 attacking players, and the wing backs can't get forward well to help them out because they are often left in 2 v 1 or even 3 v 1 situations. When it does eventually end up with the attacking players, they are left to take on about 6 defenders. It's just an impossible task to do what Conte is asking them to do this season. Conte's preferred way of playing has been found out this season. It's clear to see with how many times it has been exploited. You can put many better players in there, but things won't improve that much. We may win a game or two more often than we do, but overall, we will still see the same problems.

February 6, 20188 yr f**king disaster. We should be in second with the fixtures we've had recently...but no, now we're on the brink of falling out of the top four. Last two games, zero points, one goal scored, seven conceded. Unbelievable. Sick of it.

February 6, 20188 yr Europa league here we come. All well and good saying sack conte but I don't think anyone would do better at the mo. Something has to change though. Outplayed, out thought and out worked by relegation fodder. Not to mention thrashed by them both. Maybe barca well set a new cl scoring record against us. If the board sack him I really hope for Eddie Howe. It won't happen.
February 6, 20188 yr Chelsea made Bournemouth and Watford look like Barcelona; imagine how they’ll make the real Barcelona look?. 12-0
February 6, 20188 yr Antonio has fallen into exactly the same trap as Jose... sticking to the same failed formation and team, regardless. it’s such a shame to see because I like Antonio but it’s clearly over... Managing football teams ain’t rocket science. if players are out of form do try others... if u get hammered at home to Bournemouth don’t do the exact same thing next game. i thought we’d loose 3-0... the board haven’t helped, at all. The transfer policy of buying crocks, on the cheap is simply ridiculous. but both Jose and Antonio have failed dramatically in using the whole squad, incorporating a few keen youngsters, etc. Jose especially, forced away our future Crown Jewels... in fact, both have driven away future talent. sad to see...
February 6, 20188 yr http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42954851 to be fair I think we all expected this result , we were very fortunate to beat Watford in October where the score line flattered us massively in the 4-2 win . at least Conte accepted he may be at fault for team selection ....

Will choose the f**king same team again the next game only to be outclassed by WBA (except for cesc in place of suspended bakayoko). Expect rodriguez and rondon to boss us.
February 6, 20188 yr Was just looking at the goals again. Look at cesc and luiz for the 2nd goal. Unbelievable. f**king un-believable.
February 6, 20188 yr Just got the feeling very early last night that is was going to be another one of THOSE nights. Where do you start? Hazard was the one player you felt for. The rest were an utter shambles. Bakayoko. Possibly the most comical 30 minutes performance I have witnessed from any footballer EVER. He was so bad it was funny. Cahill & Luiz. Never do I want to see these two in the back 4 at the same time. Luiz is back to his bad old ways after one exceptional season. Cahill is spent as a PL defender. He has become a weak link that opponents exploit. Zappercosta and Moses. Good squad players who will do well at times but no more than that. Peddro. Just get rid of end of the season. Lightweight, luxury players that when the going get's tough, he's invisible. Fabregas. Still a great player, with a great football brain but just no legs and in certain games like last night just adds to our list of liabilities. Only player to come out not smelling of sh*t last night was Hazard. Even Azpi, Kante and Courtois were poor last night by their standards - WTF was Courtois thinking for the penalty? These are tough times. Feel the end is nigh for Antonio but I fear for the next chapter 'cos this is a mess.
February 6, 20188 yr When Batshuyai plays a blinder for Dortmund on his debut, you have to wonder whether it's us or the players that are wrong. Bakayoko has either got the jitters big time or he's doing this to make a point and engineer a move. Sack Conte? Don't make me laugh. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of stupidity.

Perfectly correct regarding playing out from the back but, because Cahill and Luiz are desperately slow, and then they play the ball to Fabregas who is even slower, we get punished by the opposition. Rudiger is quick and offloads/passes the ball with alacrity so, he should have been a starter. All in all, we badly need more pace in defence and midfield. The whole thing looked worn and stale last night and, with Kante being given a free role this season, that guaranteed protection of the back three is missing.

I think Bakayoko is frightened of his own shadow at the moment and is low on confidence. Two games ago, he looked like he had turned a corner but he's regressed again. A far cry from his performances around the time we beat Atletico Madrid.

Spending a billion pounds on this poxy stadium redevelopment is a cast iron reason why the board are frugal in the transfer market, all to add another 18,000 to the gate.
