Jorginho is.... (well now was) a Blue

Featured Replies

I cringed when everyone started cheering as he was subbed off. Fickle fans who didn't utter as much as a peep for the rest of the game.

Not sure I’m comfortable with describing the fans as being fickle.

Don’t think they’re necessarily changing their tune, there’s been some unrest about Sarr and the team for a while now and results and performances like against Wolves aren’t exactly winning people over.

Jorginho's limitations have been evident all year once teams started man marking.  We need a new way of playing.  Our fans shouldn't be booing people off the pitch unless they literally give up and stop fighting.  Jorginho tries, he's just incredibly limited.

Are the fickle fans just at SB or also at our Away matches?

I haven't been away this season but the atmosphere at home is just awful. Surely if the atmosphere was better and the fans got behind the team we would probably do a bit better on the pitch? Just thought it was embarrassing to cheer our own player off.

Maybe fickle was the wrong word... The fans in general wanted a change to attacking football but are too impatient to wait to reap the rewards. How many people complained about defensive football under Conte/Mourinho? Doing that and being frustrated by our high turnover rate of coaches to then want the new coach out after not even a season is fickle no?

I know a lot of people hate stats but we are creating a lot of chances. More than our top 4 rivals. Just not finishing them. Sarri isn't perfect in the slightest and he is stubborn... but so is every other top coach.

It's true, some people were unhappy about defensive football under Conte/Mourinho. Personally I was never a fan of Jose's tactics of counter attacking football whenever we faced a quality side. But that was his idea of football, just like what Conte did was his vision as a manager.

The difference between them and Sarri is obvious. While their football wasn't always great to look at, the bottom line is, they were winning things, and that goes a long way in the eyes of supporters to make up for playing ugly. So far Sarri's Chelsea has neither played a great football, nor has it won any trophies. One of two would be enough placate most fans, because most would be willing to suffer when they see positive signs of what's to come.

As for cheering off Jorginho, that's a disgrace. Every player in a blue shirt should get our support, as long as he gives his best for the team.

It's pissing me off that the fans at the stadium seem to be taking all of their frustrations out on Jorginho. Booing him, cheering him off, when the f**k did we turn into Real Madrid fans? It's similar to the way they treat Bale. Jorginho isn't the only problem with this squad. Bakayoko, Morata and Torres were worse than Jorginho and their attitudes on the pitch stank, but they never got boo's from the fans and cheers when they were subbed off.

Its the 'yer da' match going fans that can't appreciate football unless its 30% possession with counter attacking football. Happy not to attack when 1-0 down to City with 11 men behind the ball. They'll boo Jorginho then applaud Alonso, even though he has been far worse this season, cus he scored a couple against Spurs once. Also stand there talking about how they're 'proper Chels' cus they've had a season ticket since they were in the womb so their footballing opinion is worth more than anyone elses.

I really wish there was a dislike button here. Seriously, attacking the match going fans from behind your keyboard? Complaining about how they support the team?

Get off your f**king arse, get down The Bridge and show them how to support the team ‘properly’ if you don’t like what they’re doing.

You think that's an attack? Don't be so precious.

I'd rather just stick to doing away days and support my team there. Better atmosphere than all the tourists at the Bridge and the 'yer da' fans embarrassing our club booing our players and chanting 'f**k Sarriball'.

Yes, unfortunately Jorginho is getting worse. We played well in the 1st half against an Everton side that looked half asleep, but even in that period Jorginho was still poor. By Christ he is soooooooo lightweight. If Sarri really did love him as much as he says he does, he would do the decent thing and leave the poor lad out of the team for a bit.

Wow!!! I don't think have ever disagreed more with a post in all the time I have been on here.

Got the highest votes on MOTM on the Match Chat.

Also got rated our best outfield player on WhoScored.com.

Surprised people haven't noted that it was Jorginho who was initially picking up Richarlison at the corner he scored from. My TV showed Jorginho passing to the opposition numerous times.

But if Whoscored.com rated him as the best outfield player I had better revise that opinion. They also rated Alonso as our 2nd best outfield player so I suppose I have to accept he had a good game as well.

Jorginho was actually marking Michael Keane. Higuain was supposed to be picking up Richarlison. Luiz actually hid away from the original header on goal.

You're acting as if I said Jorginho was brilliant today, he wasn't. Nobody was. Kanté was terrible. Jorginho provided a great pass which Higuain should have finished off and kept it tidy. He's not responsible for the whole team falling apart in the second half, as per.

Fair point on WhoScored.com, didn't see Alonso's rating. Just think it's a bit of a reach saying you've never disagreed with a post more on here.

At the setup for the corner Jorginho was the closest player to Richarlison. As the kick is taken Richarlison has moved and Jorginho is left with Keane. Not directly Jorginho's fault at all but he is next to useless as an aerial defender in those situations.

He is so average in so many aspects of the game, and we saw that again today, that I really believe we would be a better team without him in it. His reading of the play and decision making to close down the right areas quickly when the opposition are attacking is also dire.

This bloke is as useless as tits on a bull, just like the useless prick Sarri he is way out of his depth.

To think this guy has displaced the worlds best midfielder ?????

That in itself is a f**king joke ????

I thought he played alright. Won 4 or 5 challenges, even knocked someone off the ball in the 1st half. He made a great chance for higuian, also made a decent opening for himself and got a decent effort away from the edge of the box. All in all it was a good perfomance.

You can all stop this Jorginho is a quality player / played well malarkey now. Rival fans are laughing at you. Very much like when we kept playing Torres.

Thank God Scott Harris has proven in the match points thread that Ross Barkley is superior.

PS: The earth is not flat.

Surprised no one is talking about Jorginho after his performance yesterday. He was fantastic

He plays well when the team plays well. When they team can't be bothered he gets exposed.

Which is true of any player who would play in that position.

I'm happy with jorginho. One of my biggest frustrations this year has been fans moaning about him and talking about kante
