Christian Pulisic - Official

I think especially in the last few games, he is showing real glimpses of getting back to his best. Unfortunately he seems to be a very injury prone player, and maybe the best course of action is come the end of next month, just tell him to have complete rest until we absolutely need him back for preseason.

For me he is our best attacker, and definitely has the highest potential, so there's no way we should even think about selling him.

Have to say I agree.  Some athletes are prone to muscle tears and he is one of them.  It is a shame that they take so long to heal and once torn they are very likely to tear again.

That was a really nasty tear in the cup final though. Surely that fear is a little bit expected with that type of injury, especially since he reinjured it, or at least felt pain it again after he came back originally and had to have a few more weeks out.

Just looking at the games he has missed, and i was suprised to see has barely missed a game since Spurs at home, after he came back from the set back when he pulled put of the burnley game.

Hopefully he is just being cautious, and it was great to see that whatever he felt against west brom, it didn't seem to knock his confidence in next game.

Bit early to put him in the owen/robben sort of bracket, but if he gets another big muscle injury in  the next 18 months, then i think it will be time to worry.

Dont get me wrong, I fully understand why he struggles mentally with it, a bad injury is a nightmare to get over physically firstly but hten you start second guessing every little thing that feels off. I did my ligaments (not ACL thankfully, just LCL) and it felt horrible, took me a 3 - 4 months before I could start back training but it was another 12 before I felt totally comfortable with the feeling in it.

He does not have a minor pull or knock.  He has a torn ham string that has not healed properly.  I am sure he is worried about it and it hinders him mentally. It is a major injury that if not handled properly will end his career.

How do you know its not being handled properly?

Based on what I know about muscle tears, he should have been left off the team and out of training for at least 3 months to give it the best possible chance of healing the strongest.  Muscles are a different beast.  Even then, a muscle tear is prone to re-tear.  There are newer methods to try to accelerate healing for muscle tears, but in my experience the success rate is minimal at best.  Time and rest is the best healer in these cases.  Hope he heals fast and gets Chelsea to where they need to be.

This is Pulisic's injury history at Chelsea according to https://www.transfermarkt.com/christian-pulisic/verletzungen/spieler/315779. If the problem was the tear in the abductor, then he had 6 months recovery time (I guess that also included the lockdown period), which I'm no expert, but given they are provided with the best doctors and recovery techniques, it should be long enough (again, a poster here is saying 3 months of no football would help and he had 6). Maybe as some here mention he did not recover well and all the following strains and hamstring and muscle injuries are a result of that tear, but to say that Chelsea is the guilty part here is a bit off in my opinion.

Yeah he has recovered from the mid section injury, its the hamstring that is causing him issues.  Yeah, so it probably is not Chelsea's fault, but it is still in their best interest to be careful with a muscle injury that does not seem to want to heal.  They paid a pretty good sum for him knowing that he had a history of muscle injuries, so they must value his talent.

The talent is clearly there, it's just a pity his body can't hold up with his style of play

Yeah, he could probably benefit from more weight training, but I have seen that actually take away speed from American football players.  It could help keep him healthier, but it could also take away some of the qualities that make him so dangerous.

I think he'll grow out of these injuries I'm at least hopefully this will be the case. The most important thing for him come this summer will be rest. Luckily he's not in the Euros I'm not sure about America this summer but he should finally get some well deserved time off. It will be important that he doesn't over bulk because we have seen what that can do to players Pato is a prime example.

Well CONCACAF has the GOLD CUP this summer.  They did postpone World Cup qualifying until the fall, but he will most likely be playing in the Gold Cup.  It is kind of a big deal in CONCACAF.

Also Nation's league

So yeah he'll likely be playing this summer.

Honestly they should just skip everything and hold one game between the US and Mexico.  It always comes down to those two teams anyway.  The rest of the competition is just for show.

Now that is a name I've completely forgotten. Very sad.

Doesn't take more than one great performance to nail down your spot as one of the attackers and for me he did just that today.

Looked like he did towards the end last season and long may it continue. Should continue to start alongside Mount and Havertz.

CP and the whole team played their best football under TT.  Christian did not play like a player trying to not get hurt.  He and Havertz, with Mount controlling the midfield, were incredible today.

I think it was more positive how he was back to getting stuck in, seemed a lot more confident with his body.

I agree. Even got a couple of knocks, latest one when he scored his second and he just got on with it.

So that was a nice surprise as well!

Yeah I noticed that he just walked it off, really good to see.
