September 20, 20223 yr The problem for Pulisic is there is not a position for him in a 3-4-2-1 system that Tuchel played. He still may not be good enough, but he is much better playing one of the outside attacking positions in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Even think Sterling would have ended up having the same issues over the long run playing under Tuchel. No I am not saying Pulisic is as good as Sterling but their strengths are in similar areas. I think Chelsea (and Spurs) are very limited in playing a system that relies that much on the WBs to attack. Great when the WBs are great, but if injured or out of form, it is very hard for other players to pick up that slack.
September 20, 20223 yr no surprises to hear how much he loved TT then.. couldnt wait to get on international duty and share with international media as the club sleuths were no longer policing.

I'm going to like this guy as much as Lukaku by the end of the season if he and his mates in the media carry this on. It's getting to Steve Bruce at Newcastle levels now.

He's a proper prick isn't he? Writing a book crying the manager benched you is embarrassing for a professional footballer. It's even more embarrassing to write it when you've been a bench warmer your entire career, your the least naturally talented player at the club and have consistently put in poor performances since the day you started your professional career. I really miss the days when the least talented players at the club got their heads down worked even harder and tried to play some kind of role even if they don't have the ability for the highest level. Too many untalented players are so quick to mouth off now and run to the media on international breaks and it's sad to see. The irony is Tuchel actually gave him far too much playing time, Eagle boy should be thanking Tuchel for letting him role play as a premier league footballer. It's Vital Potter doesn't make that mistake. Cut this cancer out of the squad immediately. Edited September 20, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice
September 20, 20223 yr Though I suppose Pulisic has to attack his previous coaches to sell copy's. Fame at the expense of dressing room harmony. He could have tried writing a book about his career achivements. But as people have said it's already been done.
September 20, 20223 yr Pulisic is a great example of a player that gets gifted everything and thinks he's better than he is. He genuinely believes he's one of the best players on the planet because he gets told that in America but in reality he hasn't been good for us in about 2 years
September 20, 20223 yr Usually I'm staying out of this thread, since it's basically flogging a dead horse. But seriously, isn't autobiography for sports people nearing end of their career, or at least achieved something significant. WTF is the point of writing a book at his age, are there going to be a second or third season of the book? Sure Tuchel has wronged him a few times, but when was the last time he actually played a good game when got picked? Now we got a new owner and manager, expect Pullisic to score 10-15 goals this season, unless Potter is going to mistreat him too 🥸
September 21, 20223 yr Presumably Pulisic didn't just put this book together in the last week or 2. That means he was prepared to get these complaints published and publicly aired while Tuchel was still manager, and potentially undermine him. I can't imagine that would impress some of his team mates, let alone his new manager.
September 21, 20223 yr I see a lot of over reactions here, along with the other US forums. Wait until the book is out, buy it, read it for yourself, then write your critics. It's a new beginning at Chelsea, not just for Pulisic, but a lot of players. If I recall, none of the attackers had any meaningful success under Tuchel (Pulisic, Ziyech, Timo, Havertz, and now Mount). Both Tammy and Giroud were forced to move in order to find success elsewhere. Same with CHO. Perhaps it's just me, but I am not convinced that all these attackers are complete sh*t. ALL of them. Give it a few months, and see what he can do. If not, then he truly is done and my patience will also runs out with him.

September 21, 20223 yr I suppose he had a lot of spare time! I am of the impression now that Christian gets talked round very easily and quite naive, probably a lot down to age. I reckon a publisher saw that opportunity and jumped all over it.

He's played 250 top flight games. We've seen what he can do though it's hard to actually think of anything he's good at. He clearly isn't a premier league level player, I don't remember the push to play Drinkwater or Bakayoko whenever a new manager came in. Pulisic is deadwood just as he would be under any manager, constantly trying to reintegrate players nowhere near talented enough for the highest level whenever a new manager comes in is something United have done over the last decade and it's why they still have Mctominey and Phil Jones and it's why they haven't come close to challenging for trophies in years. Coupled with his terrible attitude, he just isn't talented enough for the club to waste any more time with the drama and circus he and his entourage bring. If he's still here on January the 2nd it's a failing by the club. Edited September 21, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

As much of a w**ker as Lukaku is atleast he has a goal record to fall back on even if it isn't enough to justify how highly he think of himself, Pulisic is like the Steve Bruce of wingers, done absolutely nothing, performing terribly most weeks yet getting upset and defensive when it's being pointed out.
September 21, 20223 yr He isn't even United States' best player anymore. Aaronson and Mckennie have become more influential at this point.

Agreed, although his misfortune with injuries hasn't helped in that respect. I'd say he may not even be in the top 5 US players at the moment. The likes of Reyna, Weah etc. are probably ahead of him too. I feel that the upcoming World Cup is going to be critical for his career path. If he does well, he may be able to build on that and turn things around. But if he fails to make an impact there, things are unlikely to improve for him at Chelsea.

This episode in a way actually in a way makes me respect the likes of Bakayoko, atleast he has some self awareness to just trip over the ball and go home, the PR levels for this guy is disgusting.
