I understand the other two for their experiences but what has Stuart Webber done to make us think he is the right man for the task?

Im assuming, they want a 'grassroots' person who has experience beyond topflight english football. (Just hazarding a guess)

Could well be, I just hope we don't have a window like this one again. Such a waste of resources.

It's his money to waste, think he's learned his lesson.

Can we go after him ? Did city leave any clauses in his deal with Southampton, like first refusal on resigning him ?

@Munkworth What do you think of:laugh2: this ?

It’s all a bit much for a game for children if you must know.

Was it his money? Or was it the beginning of saddling the club with more debt?

Todd along with Clearlake are investors

investors who will want a return on their investment .American owned Clearlake will not allow their reputation to be damaged by using their investors money as a charity for an English football club.

But they might just let us tick along , until they think they can sell us on. We're just one of the many in their portfolio

If Liverpool is worth 5bill they have their idea in mind for 10 years down the road.

It's not - it belongs to nameless shareholders who will need a return on investment. Whenever they decide they want their return, they will sell and gut the club if we haven't increased in value.

Welcome to being owned by a hedge fund.

Shame we wasted 300mill including sacking and hiring managers.

Is like the Todd thought "so you thought signing Lukaku was an awful summer, hold my beer".

Like seriously how can several of the fan base point out Sterling, Cucurella, Koulibaly and Auba are bad signings and also point out the line ups against United and Arsenal were terrible and the people running the club/side not know it?

Is just a joke approach and we see what we result of it is.

Really harsh to already brand the new players as waste of money. Personally I don’t think Sterling, Koulibaly and Cucurella are bad signings, in fact I think they’re really good signings and massively improve our team.

It’s not their fault Sterling had to play wing back and Cucurella play as centre back. Give them time, they will come good.

It’s the dross like Havertz we need to get rid.

They are not allowed a return for ten years, the only way they can make any money is by growing the club and raising it's value.

What do you mean gut the club ? If they sell CFC it will be for a huge profit some time after 2032, maybe a long time after that.

May well be harsh Dan, but I called my shot before they even joined and am sticking by it.

I notice you did not include Auba in there either. Don't think he will come good?

Now look at Man Cit's squad, and work out the cost of their players divided between the number of overseas titles City have won.

Not really my point.

City have spent £1b to become sustainable league champions and cup winners. We have spent £1b to merely turn ourselves into a cup team, with fans continuing to paper over the cracks with our Champions League win.

Oh come on, City will be winning big ears sooner or later, lets us hold onto some crumbs of comfort whilst we can, i agree with what you say.

Boehly's biggest mistake IMO was firing Tuchel right at the start of the season. If he wanted Potter long term, he should have waited until the end of the season (or even right before the world cup) when all the necessary backroom positions are filled and then he could part ways with Tuchel. Even a world class manager would struggle to bring quality out of the group of players we currently have and it's going to be even harder for Potter. Hiring him in a transfer window would have helped him a lot. THere's also the PR issue of him forever being looked at as a 'sloppy owner' since he bought players for Tuchel and then fired him at the start of the season. The only way he gets out of this is if his gamble on Potter turns out successful.

This, its not that the firing of TT is necessarily wrong in the long-term, but the timing smh was so bad. Potter could probably do well in the right set up, but what happens when that's not in place results don't improve and the fans start turning on him and Boehly.

I feel Boehly and co have different levels of pressure

First of all you need to fix the current. What ever is going on in the club. For them it happened to be the summer window.

Second of all you have to make your mark in some way. For them it was changing the regime which sadly included Tuchel. I understand the reasons for it however.

Third: you need to make sure the club is successful on the pitch. Struggling here now a bit.

Fourth: make people trust in you and what you are doing. Firing, hiring coaches have put a little crack over that of late. Otherwise the investments have looked okay so far.

It is hard to remember sometimes that Boehly is just a man. You always think he is this sharp billionaire. He is just a man making decisions as any one of us. Mistakes and character will be shown time to time.
