If CHO ends up leaving us due to lack of game time I don’t think I’d be able to forgive Sarri, the boy is destined to be top class. He should be getting plenty of minutes for us in the league and across cup competitions.

It's crazy, I just don't see this happening at any other club. There isn't a good enough excuse for him to be left out anymore. Sarri saying we need to sell one of our other wingers for him to play is still one of the most bizarre things I have ever heard from a manager. What is stopping him playing Hudson-Odoi over one of them?

Hudson-Odoi sure does take his chances when they arrive at his feet. How many goals is that in the limited amount of playing time he's had? Goal scoring record has to be pretty good and should warrant more game time than he is getting. I mean if you are splitting the RW duties between Pedro, Willian and CHO. I'm fine with that, but Sarri isn't splitting the time properly between the 3

Also, how did Pedro not end up with minimum 3 goals tonight

Should have been 7 or 8-0 to us, but 3-0 is good. Lovely 2nd and 3rd goals. Alonso was poor and Zappa's crossing is some of the worst ive ever seen.

Definitely need some new fullbacks. Should be going through, just hope we have an easy draw so we can focus up more on the prem

It's funny how he says we need to sell a winger for CHO to play more, but we've already gone ahead and bought an additional one in Pulisic.  So, by Sarri's line of thinking, we now need to sell 2 wingers in order for CHO to play next season.

Precisely mate, it’s one of the most frustrating things he has come out with but if that’s the case Marina/Roman whoever is in charge should sell one of them and not replace them, see if he still feels the three will be enough. I would personally be delighted for Willian to be sold if it meant CHO got his minutes. I’ve said before I don’t mind Willy as a squad player but if that’s what it takes for CHO to get minutes, I’ll pay his air fare myself.

He’s shown more than Rashford did when he broke through at United in my opinion

Willian should be sharing his position with Hazard. Pedro and Hudson-Odoi should have been the players rotating for that RW spot this season.

Pedro could have had a hat trick. First half should have killed the game off. Second half was obvious Kiev would come out stronger and try press us. Good result against a potential banana skin.

Awful second half, but job done in the end.

Really cant see how RLC and Hudson odoi dont start regularly.

RLC is twice the player Barkley is. Always looks dangerous.

Willian and pedro have their moments, but even in a game where they both scored, both players overall game was terrible. Hudson odoi would be comfortably ahead of them if he got 3 90 minutes in a row.

Really dont understand it.

Zappacosta is also absolutely terrible. Would be better to give ampadu the experience out of position.

Anyways good result, 3 nice goals, hazard got a rest, we got a clean sheet, and we've got 1 foot in the quarter finals.

great result, i would love to get to the final and win this, underestimated trophy

I was looking at the teams left. Napoli, Villareal, Sevilla, Inter, and Valencia. On paper those teams are toughest.

Napoli the favorite imo. Arsenal and Sevilla are in trouble ahead of the second legs.

Glenn Hoddle hitting the nail on the head about Kovacic, he’s just an average midfielder for me. He doesn’t do enough going forward and creates nothing. If he plays, it should he in rotation with Jorginho as that’s where he’s performed his best in my opinion. He certainly shouldn’t be in the attacking role of the three midfielders and he’s not as good as Kante to do the box to box stuff.

3-0 despite playing as badly as Sunday league team, and with Willian et al showing all the speed and ability of Adebayo Akinfenwa on a muddy pitch in a hurricane? I blame FIFA and Football Manager, Youtube highlights videos, and whatever else it is that people are mistaking for football.

As for the actual match. Not the most scintillating to watch, but yet another win, and good reason to think the feel good factor will take us through Sunday successfully. Well done our fabulous team and well done Sarri. Proud of you always!

We will be crazy to make the move permanent, that's for sure.  Personally, I had really high hopes for him.  I think if he would have scored one or both of his chances against Cardiff early in the season, we would be looking at a completely different player - would have taken any pressure off of him offensively.

I'd agree with that as well. But in reality, Hazard and Hudson-Odoi should be starting nearly every match with Pedro and Willian fighting for reserve minutes. Hopefully that comes more and more true as the season winds down to a close

Gaffer's post match press conference

Mariana: Hey CHO, just wait 4 more years because no matter how many goals you score, you can't be seen as good enough by Sarri until you're at least 4 years older....now if you don't mind signing this contract extension......

Edited by Barry Bridges
I put 3 years, but that's not long enough for Sarri

Didn't catch all the match so my comments my be a bit off,

Not convinced by Christensen today made a few errors could have cost us in a different match.

Pedro scored yet should have had more.

Sarri brought on RLC and later CHO.

Willian scores with a good free-kick just a shame his corners are not of the same standard.

RLC and CHO link up well for the goal but by now the game was stretched with Kiev trying to get an away goal.

CHO had an earlier chance on the break to cross for the front runners yet passed behind them.

CHO is certainly a talent yet still a bit raw for me.

3-0 is a good lead yet not enough to relax, I feel 4-0 would have killed the tie but at 3-0 if Kiev score first it could be interesting for the neutral.

Saying that I expect us to go through.
