Be lovely to sign him but we really need to reinforce our defense. Liverpool were great going forward but only become serious contenders by signing VVD. Our current defense is simply not title winning material.

Liverpool sorted their attack 1st though, which is what we are doing. They only fixed their defence in klopps 3rd/4th season. There seems to be more of a long term strategy here now, i dont think Lamps is going anywhere for at 2 years, so he has time to bring in the right players whrnever they become available.

Spot on! And they only spent £88m on fixing that whole defence to put things into perspective. Van Dijk was the only big signing for £76m.

Bar the left back position IMO our issues are structural & can be fixed by either moving the defence line a bit deeper, or if we are going to use our fullbacks as playmakers have the right player sitting deepest in midfield. We probably have the best mix of 4 cbs in the league, it’s just settling on the right pair. Fix the attack now when there is little competition in the market & assess the defence/GK in upcoming windows.

Don't forget the 70m they spent on Allison either..

But saying that, Liverpool got pretty lucky in terms of TAA and Robertson breaking through at the same time as they are both clearly class, but the other CB is still probably an issue for them.

We have our own TAA in RJ but our CB's and LB needs sorting. Im actually okay with Kepa cause he definitely has potential, but he's been let down by the defence a lot as well.

I still don't understand it though, I mean Havertz would block Mount and RLC for sure and on top of it he very much loves to go to the right flank which would be occupied by Ziyech most of the time, the two of them would get in each others way;

This to me hints at the possible sale of Kante only and nothing else, because Kante's heatmap is probably red towards that same side like this one of Havertz from this season. And I'm against selling Kante.

This is actually now in the media. Some say that we are in fact considering to sell Kante in order to further fund other transfers. I still don't agree with it specially since we sold and will sell in the very near future.

I read somewhere that we are the closest to sign Kai and that Leverkusen wants 10m pounds more of the offer that Chelsea already had, so we are very close.

Madrid have Hazard, Bale, Modric, Isco, Asencio, Vicincus Jnr,  Valverde. I can't see Havertz getting the time at Madrid, look how quick Jovic went out of favour to.

Chelsea is the place to be as Lampard will utilise the squad. Obviously you need a degree of balance or you get situations like Sane at City where the player doesn't want to be second fiddle.

Signing Havertz would have a major impact on our squad.

If we sign Havertz, Barkley is gone. One of Kante or Joginho will be sold too I think, and if it was my choice, it would be Jorginho. Play Kante in a deeper role, which he can share with Gilmour. Kovacic and Loftus-Cheek sharing the CM role, whoever is playing the best, keeps the spot. Mount and Havertz attacking midfield. Loftus-Cheek could be used as an attacking midfielder too if he is needed.

RLC could in theory become a box to box midfielder like Kante, he would do worse in defense but in attack he would be more effective than Kante just that he would be more inclined to be on the left side of the pitch.

Billy is the only one that plays the Jorgh role so they should spend a full season together since Gilmour is still young.

Someone said that Kova played more forward during practice matches, if he could get used to take more shots then it's maybe obvious that Barkley is the one to be sold first.

Surely Werner would be the best agent for us just now in signing Havertz, both young German National team talents play in positions that link up It would be a huge help for their international careers to be playing with each other every week, as they look to be key Long term Germany players.

Then again Bayern is basically the German National team, but I get the impression he wants to be on the big stage, no one watches the bundesliga outside of Germany and there’s no competition, I can’t see how top players are attracted to Bayern in all honesty.

That’s an interesting statement considering they have a huge broadcast contract with Fox in the US and most games are available to millions of people here.

I watch it. And I don’t live in Germany.

Also have odegaard, kubo, and a Brazilian that plays a similar game called reiner jesus.

and we are the ones ruining football!

Looks a serious talent one that's hard to pass up even if we are fairly stacked in his position, we need world class depth in the squad anyway.

Sorting out the defense must be a serious priority first though.

Well I dunno about America but the US audience compared to Europe, the middle and the Far East is very limited, I believe the figure is about 1/10th of the premier league.

Sure people watch it outside Germany but the point is it doesn’t have anything like the PL exposure and you know who’s going to win every year so it’s certainly not as attractive fir players or viewers as the numbers reflect.

So far the Bundesliga football looks more tidy. Every team I've watched so far does a good job of short passing and escaping their own half without just hoofing the ball up. Premier league first games back and the football is low quality. Probably because of the time off but still. Bundesliga should get more credit. Difference probably is the distribution of wealth there. The TV money is evening the field in England. Still many teams there try to play football instead of doing the ol Championship type football where they sometimes head the ball more than play on the ground.

I’m sure you knew what I meant by no one, not physically no one watches it “no one...near as much as the PL watches outside of Germany.”

I think they get about 1/10th of the PL viewers which is still decent considering the lack of competitiveness vs the PL.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a good quality league, but it’s not the big stage that the PL is for players and I think that’s quite clear.
