It partially depends on our sales/purchases this summer ahead. The FFP is calculated over periods of 3 years so we will be having to balance against the last 2 seasons for the next couple of cycles (this June and June 25). But equally the player sales and income will factor in over the same period. I imagine if we even qualify for Europa next season it will help us with FFP targets for June 2025.

He’s the only player that’s challenging Palmer for our POTS this season. Class act on and off the pitch, hope he’s here for the rest of his career.

Agreed, He is Chelsea through and through as well. You need a few players like that for the connection to the fans. Most fans of other clubs that I talk to rate him highly.

Is a real shame we all know where this is likely ending.

Is Conor a backer starting 11 in a title challenging side? No (yes yes we are a long way away from that)

But does ge merit a place in such a squad? 100%.

Yep, and as much as people think I hate the guy, I don't actually want us to sell him. I just feel like he lacks certain qualities needed in certain areas of the pitch and I would rather he played in areas we know he can help us instead of allowing him to chase players all over the place, like today. Picking up the ball around the oppositions box is where he can help us. That is where his main strengths lie and it's been that way since his Crystal Palace loan.

Its ridiculous the sh*t he gets, came on last night, saved our arses, still got crap from Chelsea "Fans" f**king idiots.

Very important goal, for some reason it was some quality play by him in a small space and nice finishing.

Before the goal he brought some energy into the game, he was involved in possession and tried to create few counters but in terms of quality he wasn't there.

Credits needs to be given after putting an important goal to win the game. He's current scoring form is not bad at all, he has scored against Villa, twice against Palace and against Leeds. 

Still a squad player for me.

Wins us a game that could easily slipped away ,brought effort and grunt to a slow lethargic group has always put in 100%

may not be the most skilful player but is honest and Chelsea and still gets sh*t on here ,what do you want ffs

When do they arrive?

I was really annoyed when Poch brought on Gallagher, not because of Connor himself but that meant Mudryk would be moved to wing. He looked really promising all game and it really felt like it was one of his best games so far, why would you stop that?

I’m convinced Mudryk would have got another goal or assist if he stayed there for rest of the match.

Poch or the next manager should find a way to fit Gallagher in but keep Mudryk in the no 10 role imo.

Perhaps something like a diamond midfield, Caicedo as the bottom cm, Enzo and Gallagher box to box midfielders with Mudryk at the tip?

Where are you playing Palmer if you go with a midfield diamond ? Striker ?

Does Gallagher's goal justify the substitution and tactical switch? I think so, given Poch has made some absolutely bizarre subs to close out games, I'd say he probably got this one right given the result. Kudos due and shows he's perhaps capable of making game winning subs? Hope it continues. 

Back to the league and hope we continue the momentum. 

I’m a tough critic on Gallagher, but his goal was excellent. Three touches - receive/turn, set, strike. Why doesn’t he take fewer touches more often! Lovely goal

I like Gallagher. 

Really do and he's definitely one of my favourites. Perhaps it's me clutching at the last remnants of a Chelsea that once was but if I had a wand, I'll have him miss that goal last night and instead score that one on one in league cup final.

To say that miss hurt me is an understatement.

Lavia, Santos, Casadei... Not sure really but the whole thing sounds like the club would be willing to sell Connor for 50m in order to sign Osimhen for 111m and make it look as if we magically avoided all troubles.

Our reality is that our wingers are not making their mark yet and we're missing a striker so Gallagher took his chance and showed that this squad needs him.

But then again nobody is irreplaceable, truth be told if Nkunku had been healthy he would have been in that offensive central role, Palmer as well.

If the club does something like that I suspect they will have sell more academy products in summer of 2025 to balance for FFP. While Santos and Casadei have potential, they could take some time to be regular first teamers. Lavia has been lost on the treatment table. So as it stands I don't think we would have an adequate replacement if Conor leaves.

This fella has the potential to become the new Frank Lampard (player not coach!) if he finds a system that suits him. I doubt it will be here though.

We can always change the way we play.

On paper Enzo and Caicedo wouldn't need an extra player to help them out and we could just play Palmer ahead of them in a 4-2-3-1 and make it work. It's just that so far it hasn't been working.
Also Nkunku fully fit would be the advanced player in that area with a striker ahead of him ideally speaking.

In theory, even without Gallagher someone from that group of players of Lavia, Casadei, Santos should have a breakthrough and replace Gallagher in that midfield trio.

We didn't have a real replacement for Mount either but in the long run the manager makes the team with what he has and identifies new strengths for the squad. I'm not advocating that the club should sell Gallagher but a good manager should be able to make a team without him just as much.

Not really new news, Conors form improvement of late helps their cause.

However he holds the cards, he could easily decided to see out his last year and walk for free.

Euros are the summer right? So even if they threat him with a lack of play time next season would not cost him his England hopes.

Really United and Liverpool should be simply going here is your 50mill, he would be well worth it for their sides. Newcastle as well.
