I don't know the kind of manager that Tuchel is. I think he only uses the number of minutes that players have played to pick the players that play. I don't think he considers which player is better than another player.

We have an important premier league match coming up against Newcastle at the weekend and we have a Carabao cup match in midweek, why did u play Reece James and make Aspi rest. Is it that he believes Aspi is better than James because I feel the Newcastle game is more important than this game. Reece James should have been allowed to rest for the Newcastle game and Aspi should have played today because I believe James is better than Aspi.

Same thing Jorginho should have started this game. I feel the two guys that should start in our midfield against Newcastle should be Loftus-Cheek and Kovacic.

Then again I believe Emerson would have still offered more on our left wing than Alonso. We should have involved Alonso in that deal for Lukaku and keep Emerson as back up for Chillwell.

Blimey, we made it hard on ourselves! Good first half that we dominated and could have scored a couple. The second half I thought was diabolical, shambles defending but good going forward. And lucky to get to penalties at the end with great saves from Kepa. Alonso had one of those days in which he’s just a liability, together with Saul and Sarr in that side, most of their danger (and their goal) came from the left side. Saul had three chances and was unlucky not to score, other than that not much more though he lost the ball for their goal. Anyways, on to the next round!!

And more diabolical is the fact that I’m surrounded by Arses and QPR supporters in the train…

Say what you want about Kepa…but boy is he good at saving penalties

DId he save any? I thought they hit the post and put one over.

Just saw highlights.  Good to get through, and at this stage 3 games from a trophy.  Might as well go for it.

The Saints goal was a flashback to last season.  A series of mistakes, and a goal we've stopped conceding post TT.

Oh yeah Ziyech continues to lose possession at about double the rate of any other Chelsea player and his pressing isn't impressing. He does have the odd magic moment though.

Some idiot grabbed me for a conference right at KO, so missed most of the game but managed to watch the full game later.  With most of the B team playing, we made hard work of this.  Never had control of the game and fair play to the Saints for their constant pressing never letting our players settle.  Apart from the goal from Havertz once again we are struggling up front to take the chances that we did create, albeit 15 shots on target including a couple of decent saves from Forster.  Barkley showed why he just isn't good enough, Saul looking better, but still trying to catch up with pace; another couple of games and he can offer a good back up in the middle of the park.  Sarr, not such a good game tonight.  A couple of strange subs, but at least one of them can take a penalty....never let Mount take a penalty again! 😱  Onwards and upwards to Newcastle.

See this Southampton fan by the corner flag with a Nike hoody on, watch him taunt Ziyech before the corner, then watch him when Kai goes to the corner to celebrate :laugh2:

It’s not exactly breaking news that Scummers are morons. I’ll present Malta Blue as my damning evidence…

Yes i was at the game and had the pleasure of walking past them as we came out the East stand, their is a railing to separate the away fans coming out the shed and the home fans coming out the East stand, the verbals and finger pointing coming from them was funny, especially when the railings ended and they went quiet :laugh2:

There was a bloke in The Shed who’d had a few and kept giving it ‘just a sh*t team from Portsmouth’ all game. No it wasn’t me but he’s my new hero.
