If he was willing to come here I would agree. Would be great to sign him. However he has proved by his actions he wants to stay at Barca, and latest media says if he is forced out he will go to United for higher wages.

That certainly reduces their need to sell De Jong, since apparently despite nothing changing on their finances they can register all their signings now. Assuming the relationship isn’t broken beyond repair, no need for him to leave now.

Some talk on here we could just take the Gordon money, add 20mill and get De Jong. 

Agreeing a deal with Barca was never an issue, United did months ago, the issue was the player does not want to leave.

The problem is we've wasted too much time pursuing unrealistic transfers like Dembele, de Jong and Fofana. Each is a f**king soap opera in itself and we've wasted time on 3 in a single window. Just wish we tried to sign good solid players like Kovacic and develop them into the system and the way we want to play. Seems like Todd and TT are too enamoured with big names and big price tags and want players who they think will turn us into contenders overnight.

Cannot say i am surprised. I felt he qas always going to come to terms with Barca as he made it so so clear that is where it wants to be.

Just imagine we had gotten Nunes for 38m.  We won't be desperately chasing no gooders like Gordon now. Jeez !!!! Our transfer business this time has been a decking sh*tshow. Maria would have sorted the sh*t out of Leicester and Barca ages ago

La liga will twist the rules and allow barca whatever they want. They need competition for real madrid to keep viewers interested and the revenue incoming.

Not really what we need imo. Need someone a bit more robust. A Bellingham or a Tielemans or a Rice fit the style better, particularly in England.

Has a couple of days off. Nothing to do with a transfer. With Memphis Depay apparently. Nothing to do with transfers... nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just a holiday....
